After two weeks into the season, including two come-from-behind victories by the AJ McCarron-led St. Louis Battlehawks and two miserable performances from the Orlando Guardians, we enter Week 3 of the XFL season.
So far, the DC Defenders have emerged as one of the better teams in the league with their run-heavy approach and holding the Vegas Vipers to just six points.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Defenders sit atop the futures betting odds for XFL Champion at +275.

The Renegades are 1-1, and the Guardians are 0-2. The Guardians are averaging just 12 points per game, and the Renegades scored 22 in Week 1 and 14 in Week 2.
Even though this total is under 40, the Guardians have shown close to zero life through their first two games, with the team benching quarterback Paxton Lynch in back-to-back games in favor of Deondre Francois. They’ve combined for 52 attempts, 29 completions, 212 yards, three touchdown passes, and two interceptions.
The Renegades have gotten serviceable play from quarterback Drew Plott, who’s completing 63% of his passes and two touchdowns to two interceptions.
Both teams have a reliable receiver in Sal Cannella for the Renegades and Lattimer for the Guardians. Still, with a total in the high 30s, you’ll need to rely on points mostly from the Renegades, which aren’t exactly an offensive juggernaut.
That, coupled with the Guardians miserable showing to start the year, we recommend the under.

If there’s one thing the Roughnecks have shown with authority over the first two weeks of the XFL season, they have a ferocious defense.
As a unit, the Roughnecks have posted 12 sacks (five more than the next closest team), 17 tackles for loss, four interceptions, and two fumble recoveries.
On top of this defense, the Roughnecks passing game leads the league in yards per attempt at 5.9, second in yards (421), and tied for first in passing touchdowns with four.
The Brahmas and quarterback Jack Coan played excellent football in Week 2, scoring 30 points, but to be fair, it was on the Guardians.
Despite Coan’s completion rate of 68.3% and his ability to handle the football, he’s not someone we’re ready to trust, especially against the best defense in this eight-team league.
While the Vipers and Sea Dragons are both 0-2, these teams should be more capable on offense. The Vipers have a group of receivers featuring multiple former NFL players, Martavis Bryant and Geronimo Allison, and the Sea Dragons have Josh Gordon.
Neither team has performed exceptionally well in any defensive category, and each has thrown two interceptions, which could easily result in points for either side if that trend continues.
This has a chance to be one of the higher-scoring games of the XFL season, as both teams have receivers that could finally get it going at any moment, defenses that leave a bit to be desired, and turnover-proneness.
