The Connecticut Sun have already bounced back from their first loss of the season with a dominant win over the Indiana Fever. But now, the Sun will look to build some momentum with a win over the Chicago Sky. Connecticut opened as a 7.5-point road favorite over the 4-6 Sky.
Chicago was a 4.5-point home dog when they hosted the Sun on May 25; Connecticut won by four, 86-82. Let’s take a look at the betting line for tonight’s game, along with our preview and prediction.
The Sun has been the team to beat this season and finally fell last weekend to the New York Liberty. But while they have the best record in the WNBA at 10-1, they have not fared so well against the spread, going 5-6. However, they have gone 3-1 ATS in their last four games.
As for the Sky, Chicago has struggled with finding an identity this season. Consequently, they are losing more than they’ve won (4-6) and aren’t doing much better against the spread at 5-5. However, they did give the Sun a good fight back in May, only to lose 86-82 (the spread was +4.5 for Sky).

The idea may sound strange, but the New York Liberty may have done the Sun a favor by beating them last weekend. Now, the pressure to keep the streak alive is gone, and the team can focus on playing good, clean basketball and getting better every time they step out onto the court.
It certainly appeared to be just another day at the office when they knocked off the Fever on Monday, 89-72. Five players scored in double figures; Alyssa Thomas was the only starter that did not. She made up for her lack of points with 18 rebounds and seven assists.
The Sky did give the Sun a good fight when these teams met on May 25 in the Windy City. Chicago led by one after the first, 24-23, then extended the lead to eight, 50-42, at the half. But then the Sun took over after the intermission, outscoring the Sky 44-32 and giving Connecticut a four-point win.
Connecticut just has to play their game to beat the Sky. Chicago doesn't have the talent to go toe to toe with the Sun. But if Connecticut has a slow half as they did in the first meeting vs. the Sky, a window of opportunity could open for Chicago to steal a win.
Bet on Connecticut Sun at FanDuel
The Chicago Sky has not been an impressive team so far, but there is a chance that could change in the near future. Why? Because the No. 3 pick in the draft, Kamilla Cardoso is healthy and working on getting acclimated to the WNBA game.
There have been some growing pains, of course. But Cardoso played a season-high 21 minutes her last time out and recorded 13 points and five rebounds. Had she not gotten into foul trouble, it is fair to wonder if she would have played more and generated an even better stat line.
Connecticut did not face Cardoso last time, which could give the Sky a slight edge if they try to use her more (and she can stay out of foul trouble). Chicago was competitive the first time they faced the Sun this season. Adding a player of Cardoso's caliber could be a difference-maker.
The Sky's roster has a world of potential, but the team has yet to figure out the just-right formula. Until they find a focus on the offensive end of the court, they will struggle to be anything more than a mediocre offense—which a defense like Connecticut has can shut down.
The Sun's record against the spread is a concern, but the Sky appears to be struggling to tread water while Connecticut has things figured out.
My Pick(s): Sun to cover or UNDER 153.5 points at FanDuel
With what both teams have shown us, the Sun should have no trouble taking care of the Sky. This game is one they should win easily, outright and against the spread. But if Connecticut's ATS record concerns you, go with the UNDER.
The Sun's defense will not let the Sky score 80+ points again. Connecticut's offense has scored 70+ points in five of their last six games and will probably put up similar numbers again.
