With a 99-80 loss to the Aces in Las Vegas on Saturday, the Indiana Fever will head back home for Tuesday's contest vs. the Los Angeles Sparks with a 1-6 record. After opening as a two-point road favorite against the Sparks on Friday, Indiana is a 5.5-point favorite for Tuesday night's home game.
It's been a busy start to the 2024 WNBA season for the Indiana Fever, who played seven games within the first 12 days of the season, five of them on the road. Fans and bettors can only hope a couple of days off before Tuesday's game will be enough for the team to recharge.
Let's look at the betting odds for the Sparks vs. Fever and our pick for the game. For more betting insights check our daily WNBA Prop Bets and Player Props.
Friday's game in LA saw the Sparks get off to a strong start as they took a 45-34 lead into halftime. Clark got off to a slow start once again, missing her first seven three-pointers. Clark hit just two on the night, the first extending Indiana's lead to six points, 72-66 with 2:27 to go.
The second came with 40.1 seconds left and pushed the lead out to five points at 76-71 (final score, 78-73).
But they reverted to their losing ways the following night against the Aces in Las Vegas. Clark was 2-8 on the night (2-5 from three-point range) and finished with just eight points. The last time she finished a game with a single-digit point total was her freshman year at Iowa.

LA fans hoping for a bounce-back game after losing to the Indiana Fever Friday night almost got their wish Sunday night when the team hosted the Dallas Wings. The game was tied after one, 27-27, but a lackluster second period by the Sparks allowed Dallas to take a 49-42 lead into the half.
They were still down by seven heading into the final period. A pair of Cameron Brinks free throws brought the Sparks within one, 81-80, with a little under two minutes to go. But they couldn’t take advantage of missed shots and turnovers down the stretch and lost 84-83.
It was a solid defensive effort in the second half, leading to the final couple of minutes. A defensive letdown in the second half against the Fever Friday night led to Indiana outscoring them 44-28 to steal the win in that game.
After finally getting their first win on Friday against the Sparks in LA, fans and bettors may have thought/hoped that game might serve as a springboard to better things. But it certainly wasn’t Saturday night in Las Vegas.
To be fair, the team got off to a great start and led the Aces at the end of the first, 28-24. But then they fell apart in the second and scored just ten to 22 for Las Vegas, which led 46-38 at the half. The Aces stretched the lead to 16 points (72-56) after three before winning by 19 (99-80).
Caitlin Clark had another rough night from the floor, hitting just two of eight shots, both from three-point range, and had seven assists, five rebounds, and six turnovers.
However, when reviewing how Caitlin Clark and the Fever have played through the first seven games of the season, the schedule must be taken into consideration. Not only have they played seven games in 12 days, but five have been against a team that played in one of the last two WNBA Finals.
Bet on Indiana Fever at BetMGM
The Sparks are a lot like the Fever; they are trying to figure out what works best for their talent on the roster. Indiana has had some solid moments where Caitlin Clark and the team have looked good, but they have also struggled with consistency.
However, the Fever knows the Sparks are a team they can beat and will want to put on a show for their hometown fans. But if the team that showed up vs. the Aces Saturday shows up for this game, the Fever could be in for a long day,
My Pick: UNDER 166.5 at -115 via BetMGM
It is difficult to have confidence in either team stepping up and taking charge in this game. However, it may be more likely that they play down to the other team’s level of play, which will lead to a low-scoring game.
