The Seattle Storm will try to keep the good times rolling at home tonight when they face Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Since losing to Minnesota in the season opener, Seattle has been unstoppable at home, winning their last eight, including the first four of a nine-game homestand.
However, while the Sky have struggled to string some wins together, Reese has proven herself to be a rising star, someone the Storm must account for if they are to win tonight.
Read on for the betting odds for the game, along with our preview and pick.
Along with being one of the best home teams in the league this season, the Storm have been good for bettors and fans, going 8-1 SU and ATS at Climate Pledge Arena. They opened as 9.5-point favorites for this game, but the line has already moved to ten points.
When these teams met on May 28 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, the Storm were 1.5-point road favorites and went on to win 77-68. That win put Seattle over .500 for the first time this season at 4-3. The Storm have gone 9-3 since.
Chicago started the season with a three-game road trip, on which they went 2-1. They’ve fared better on the road (4-4) than at home (3-7) and are actually scoring more on the road (81.3 ppg) than at home (77.9 ppg).

The all-time series between the Sky and Storm has been competitive; Seattle holds a 25-22 lead heading into tonight's matchup. While Seattle won the last game, Chicago has won six of the last ten. The Sky beat the Storm last time when they played in Seattle (90-85 on Aug. 27, 2023).
The OVER has gone 5-5 in the last ten games.
It has been a tough season for the Sky so far, but they could be on the verge of making a move. After getting off to a 4-9 start, Chicago has gone 3-2 over their last five games to improve to 7-11.
Part of the improvement can be tied to the development of Rookie of the Year candidate Angel Reese. She'll take an 11-game double-double streak into tonight's game. During her run, the offense has been the third-best in the league (82 ppg).
However, while the offensive output has improved during Reese's historic run, the Sky's defense has taken a step back. Prior to Reese's first double-double, the defense allowed 78.4 ppg (fourth best). Since the streak began on June 4, they've allowed 82.4 ppg (seventh best).
The offense has gotten even better in the last five games, with 85 ppg (third-best). The defense has also taken a step in the right direction (80.4 ppg allowed, fifth best in that stretch).
Seattle has a distinct advantage in this game, as it is the team's fifth consecutive home game. Playing at home is always a benefit, but the Storm have been at home long enough to become so comfortable they may struggle when they go back on the road (July 16 @ Los Angeles).
But for now, it's time to take advantage of such a long homestand. So far, the Storm have.
Prior to the homestand, the Storm defense allowed 79.7 ppg. Since the stand began on June 23 vs. the Sun, they have been the stingiest defense in the league, allowing just 71.3 ppg. As for the offense, they averaged 83.1 ppg before the stand (fifth best).
During the stand, they scored 88.3 ppg (second best).
Bet on Seattle Storm at FanDuel
This game may be the biggest challenge Angel Reese has faced during her double-double run. She did record one when Chicago and Seattle played earlier in the season (11 points, 12 rebounds). Seattle is playing great defense right now, but they were playing solid defense back then, too.
FanDuel has her odds of recording a record-setting 13th consecutive double-double, breaking Candace Parker's record of 12 straight games with one, at -140. There is little value there, but we think she'll do it.
As for the game, Seattle will win this game, but it is hard to say whether they can cover the spread. However, it would not be shaking if the final score was similar to the early season matchup (77-68, Seattle).
