The defending champs kick off the second half of the season against the Storm in Seattle. After some early season struggles, the Aces appear to have righted the ship and are playing solid basketball again. However, the Storm has quietly developed into one of the better teams in the league.
Seattle’s eight-game home win streak ended Friday with a loss to Chicago. Las Vegas lost its last road game, 98-93 in overtime, to the Sparks in Los Angeles. Both are coming off wins on Sunday, the Storm over the Sky and the Aces vs. the Wings.
Let’s take a look at the betting odds for this matchup, along with our preview and prediction for the game.
These two teams have already played twice this season, both games in Las Vegas and with both getting a win. Las Vegas was the betting favorite in both (-7.5 on June 7 and -6.5 on June 19). Seattle won the earlier game 78-65, while Vegas took the latter, 94-83.
So, from a betting perspective, each team is 1-1 outright and against the spread, and the OVER is 1-1 as well. Seattle leads the league in wins ATS so far this season at 14-7; Vegas is 9-11. The OVER has gone 12-8 for the Aces and 9-12 for the Storm.

The all-time series between Seattle and Las Vegas has been incredibly tight.
They have played 80 times; Seattle currently holds the series lead, 41-39. However, the Aces have won eight of the last ten. Prior to the Storm's win in Las Vegas this season, Seattle had not succeeded in beating Vegas on the road since the 2022 season (Aug. 28, 76-73).
As for the total, the OVER is 5-5 in the last ten games and 2-3 in the last five.
One of the good things about playing a 40-game season is the time a team has to get things right. A quarter of the way through the season, it looked like the Aces didn't have a shot at repeating as champs again. They were 5-5, the offense was taking care of business (85.7 ppg, third best).
But defensively, they struggled to slow anyone down (83.9 ppg allowed). In three of their losses, the team scored 88, 92, and 85 points. That should have been enough to record a win, but the defense allowed 98, 96, and 100 points.
However, they appear to have gotten on track in the second quarter of the season. They won eight of ten games to improve to 13-7, half a game back of the Storm for fourth place in the standings. On the offensive end, they scored 93 ppg but still allowed 83.5 ppg (seventh best).
As the old saying goes, offense wins games, and defense wins championships, but the Aces may need to step up their defense against a surging Seattle team playing its seventh game in a row at home.
Bet on Las Vegas Aces at Caesars
When the nine-game homestand the Storm is working on began back on June 23 vs. Connecticut, Seattle was 9-6 and starting to resemble a respectable team and a potential contender. The defense has been dominant (74 ppg allowed, best), and the offense has been solid (86 ppg).
But considering how the last game between these two teams went in Vegas, it's a little harder to have confidence in them. The offense provided a respectable 83 points, but the defense had no answer for A'ja Wilson (27 points, nine rebounds) or Jackie Young (32 points) as Vegas won 94-83.
Both players shot over 50% from the field and combined to make 22 of the Aces' 35 made shots.
Vegas has allowed six teams to score 95+ points in a game. Seattle's defense has held opponents to under 80 points in five of their last games. If the offense can get on track against the Aces' mediocre defense, Seattle may not need to count on its defense to slow down the Vegas offense.
Bet on Seattle Storm at Caesars
Seattle has a solid defense, but slowing down A'ja Wilson and the Vegas offense may be too much for them. However, since the Aces do not have much of a defense this season, Jewel Loyd, Nneka Ogwumike, and Skylar Diggins-Smith could be in for big days.
The Storm is certainly playing well enough to win this game, especially since it's a home game for them. But you can never count the Aces out, no matter where they are playing or who. It is hard to say with confidence who should win this game, but there is one thing that is certain.
Fans and bettors will see quite a few points scored in this game.
