Memphis Showboats Team Preview

Last season, The Memphis Showboats had to play all 10 of the games in Birmingham, Alabama. The Showboats were able to play their first game in their home arena in Memphis as they hosted the Philadelphia Stars last Saturday. 

The Showboats opened the game with an early interception and struggled to get their feet under themselves from there. Head Coach Todd Haley has high hopes that the Showboats will bounce back from that loss and do a better job of taking care of the ball in their Week 2 matchup against the defending champions.

 The Showboats will need a strong effort from multiple players on the team if they hope to stay above water against the Birmingham Stallions.

Birmingham Stallions Team Preview

The Stallions have been rolling since the beginning of the 2022 USFL season. The Stallions secured the 2022 USFL championship and will be looking to keep that fire burning against the Memphis Showboats as they took a dominant win in Week 1 to kick off the 2023 season.

In Week 1 the Stallions did a good job of forcing turnovers and locking down the red zone as they held the Generals to 1-4 when inside that Red Zone area.

The Stallions suffered a crushing loss with star wide receiver Marlon Williams Tearing his Achilles heel. This shouldn't slow the Stallions down too much as they will look to lean on CJ Marable and Bo Scarborough who combined for a quiet 23 yards on just 11 carries.
