Originally expected to feature Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler, UFC 303 saw a last-minute change in main event after McGregor was forced to pull out with a foot injury. Enter LHW champion Alex Pereira.

Pereira agreed to take on Jiri Prochzka in a rematch from UFC 295 - a fight in which Pereira originally won his UFC championship.

A kickboxing master and BJJ black belt, Pereira has since defended his belt once - earning a first-round knockout over former champion Jamahal Hill in the main event of UFC 300 just two-months ago.

Since his loss to Pereira, Prochazka has also earned a win in the meantime - earning a TKO in the second-round over Aleksandar Rakic (which also took place at UFC 300).

Despite his young age, Prochaka already holds a professional record that includes 35 fights. He will have a slight one-inch reach advantage over the champion.

However, with Pereira already holding a win over Prochazka, oddsmakers have the champ listed as a (-142) favorite at Fanduel for this weekend’s main event.

One of the fastest-rising prospects in the UFC today, the number-14 ranked Diego Lopes now has a chance to crack the top-five should he be able to defeat the number-three ranked and former title challenger Brian Ortega. Check out UFC Rankings here.

Lopes, who is also a coach and training partner of women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso, is currently on a three-fight winning streak after having lost his UFC debut to the undefeated Movsar Evloev.

He has since won all of his last three fights within the first round: submitting Gavin Tucker and knocking out Pat Sabatini and, most recently at UFC 300, Sodiq Yusuff.

Brian Ortega, one of the best grapplers the UFC roster has ever boasted, has struggled with injuries over the past several years. After back-to-back losses in 2021 and 2022, Ortega missed all of 2023 and only returned to the octagon this past February. However he returned with an impressive third-round submission over Yair Rodriguez.

Lopes is younger, taller and will have a three-inch reach advantage. He has also been significantly more active. For these reasons, it’s easy to see why he is listed as the (-150) favorite at FanDuel.

Now we get to another fight that was originally scheduled differently. Officially announced as Jamahal Hill vs Carlon Ulberg, Anthony Smith jumped in after Hill was forced to pull out. Fast-forward to just weeks before the fight, Ulberg then had to pull out and middleweight contender Roman Dolidze agreed to step up in weight and step in against the former title challenger Smith.

Smith recently defeated the highly touted prospect Vitor Petrino by submission just one-month ago at UFC 301. He is now 2-2 in his last four fights.

Dolidze, a top-ten middleweight in the UFC, will make his first appearance in the light heavyweight division since joining the UFC. He is currently on a two-fight skid, most recently losing a majority decision to Nassourdine Imavov back in February. Read more about UFC weight classes here.

With less of a weight cut to handle, Dolidze will be favored at (-150) at FanDuel over Anthony Smith.

Hoping to bounce back from her title-fight loss to Raquel Pennington, Mayra Bueno Silva will have her hands full with number-seven ranked bantamweight Macy Chiasson.

Chiasson is 2-2 over her last four fights but is coming off of an impressive submission win over Pannie Kianzad that took place back in March. The fight marked her return to the 135-pound division.

Bueno Silva had won three-in-a-row before having a win over Holly Holm overturned after testing positive for banned substances. When she returned, she took on Raquel Pennington for the vacant women’s bantamweight title but was defeated via unanimous decision at UFC 297 back in January.

Chaisson is taller, longer and favored (-122) at Fanduel Sportsbook.

Probably a main or co-main event-worthy bout on any other card, number-seven ranked, undefeated welterweight Ian Garry will kick off the main card with a bout against the freshly-signed Michael “Venom” Page.

A black belt in judo, Garry is now 14-0 with half of those wins taking place under the UFC banner. He is coming off of a split-decision win over Geoff Neal that took place at UFC 298 in February.

Michael Page, a former Bellator superstar, signed with the UFC last December and made his octagon debut back in March at UFC. He put on an impressively elusive performance against Kevin Holland that led him to a unanimous decision win.

Garry is 11-years younger than Page but Page will have the five-inch reach advantage in this bout. Both men stand at equal height.

With his youth, brashness and UFC experience, Ian Garry will enter this kick-off fight as the (-148) favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook.
