Third-degree BJJ black belt, former title challenger, fan favorite and number-six ranked UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns returns to the main event this Saturday to take on the number-eight ranked welterweight Sean Brady.

Brady, also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, recently bounced back from the first loss of his professional career (he lost to now-welterweight champion Belal Muhammad in 2022). Brady is coming off of a submission win over Kelvin Gastelum that took place last December.

Burns is looking to get back on track himself. After earning back-to-back wins over Neil Magny and Jorge Masvidal, Burns now finds himself on a two-fight losing streak that most recently saw him lose via KO to Jack Della Maddelena at UFC 299 in March.

Burns will stand one-inch taller than Brady but Brady will have the one-inch advantage in reach.

Despite Burns’ third-degree black belt and experience in high-profile fights, he will enter this main event bout on Saturday as the +146 underdog.

Former strawweight champion and flyweight title challenger Jessica Andrade is ranked within the top-ten of both divisions and currently sits as the number-six ranked women’s flyweight.

The BJJ black belt bounced back from a rough 2023, in which she lost three in a row. She now fiend herself on a two-fight win streak having most recently defeated Marina Rodriguez via decision at UFC 300.

Andrade takes on striking specialist Natalia Silva, who has won all five of her UFC bouts and who hasn’t lost professionally since 2018 (11-fights).

Silva is coming off a recent unanimous decision win over Viviane Araujo that took place back in February.

The number-eight ranked Silva will stand two-inches taller than her opponent and will have a three-inch advantage in reach.

She is impressively listed as the -290 favorite over the former champion.

Only one-inch separates these men in height. Only one-year separates these men in age. Their records are identical with the exception of one draw. Steve Garcia looks to extend his four-fight winning streak against Kyle Nelson this weekend. However, Nelson is riding a three-fight winning streak of his own.

Nelson last fought in March, earning a first-round TKO victory over Bill Algeo.

Not to be outdone, Garcia’s most recent win came against Choi Seung-Woo in the form of a first-round TKO back in July.

With all their similarities, it’s not surprising to see relatively close odds. Garcia is listed as the -192 favorite compared to Nelson’s +148 underdog.

Ranked at number-11 in the flyweight division and boasting a black belt in karate, Matt Schnell has gone just 1-3 over his last four fights and is coming off of his second KO loss in a row (a KO loss to Steve Erceg last March).

Schnell takes on Alessandro Costa who, despite only having a 2-2 UFC record, is listed as a staggering -530 to win; by far the largest betting favorite on the main card.

Costa is coming off of a TKO win over Kevin Borjas.

Despite his four-inch height and 5.5-inch reach advantage, Schnell will enter the octagon this Saturday as a +360 underdog.

When it comes to the oddsmakers, this main card bout is the closest and therefore is one to watch.

American-born Trevor Peek is 1-2 in the UFC and is coming off of a decision loss against Charlie Campbell that took place back in April. He is hungry for a win and will have a two-inch reach advantage over his opponent.

That opponent is Yanal Ashmouz, who is 1-1 in the UFC and is also coming off of a recent loss - his being at the hands of Chris Duncan last July. This will be Ashmouz’s first fight of 2024. This fact is likely the reason that, while the odds are close, Ashmouz is listed as the +100 underdog.
