BetMGM is a well-known sportsbook and casino that first launched in the summer of 2018. Since then, they’ve expanded their sportsbook operations to 22 states and the District of Columbia. If you’re itching for an inside look at what BetMGM Sportsbook has to offer, I’ve got all the details for you in our BetMGM Sportsbook revSportsbookiew.
In this section, I’m going over BetMGM’s available bonuses and promotions. I’m based in NY, so I wasn’t able to get their $1,500 second chance bet bonus. However, I’ve explained how to claim it, as well as other promotions I found on their site. At the moment, you can claim one of three different welcome offers at BetMGM. I will get into all of them below, and I’ll also discuss their VIP program at length.
BetMGM promo offer for new players is a second chance bet worth up to $1,500 in bonus bets. This means that if your first wager of $10+ goes belly-up at BetMGM, you’ll get a 100% insurance rebate worth up to $1,500.
This promo isn’t available for players in NV, NC, NY, or PR, so I wasn’t able to get my hands on it, unlucky me. Players in all the other BetMGM legal states can claim this bonus.
To claim this offer, you need to use the BetMGM bonus code “WSNSPORTS” when you sign up. You’ll find the space to type in the code in the third step of the sign-up process.
To claim it, you need to make an initial deposit of $10 or more. Once your account is topped up, bet at least $10 on any sporting event. If your wager loses, you’ll receive a single bonus bet equal to your first wager, up to a maximum of $1,500. The bonus bet has to be used as a single bet.
To use it, add any bet (straight or parlay) to your bet slip. Then, click “Apply Bonus Bet” next to your stake.
If your bet placed with a bonus bet wins, you'll receive only the net winnings, as the original stake is deducted from your final payout.
For example, if you wager $10 in real money at -200 odds, you’d get $15 back if your bet won ($10 stake + $5 in winnings). If you wager a $10 bonus bet at the same -200 odds, you'll only receive $5 in net winnings.
Bonus bets expire seven days after you receive them, and there are no listed odds restrictions.
You only need to use your bonus bets once before you can withdraw any winnings, thanks to a playthrough requirement of one.
Claim $1,500 in Bonus Bets at BetMGM
Play at BetMGM from Nevada, sign up with code WSNNEVADA and claim $250 paid back in bonus bets if your bet doesn't win.
As a New York player, the only monetary promotion I could find at BetMGM is their $100 referral bonus. I clicked “Refer-A-Friend” from the Promotions page to see more information. I saw that I could invite up to twenty people per month, leaving me open for up to $2,000 in qualifying referral bonuses.
I clicked “Refer-A-Friend” and “Invite Your Friends” to grab my referral link. I sent it to 5 friends, but only one of them actually signed up. I also discovered that I had to invite people who lived in the same state as me (New York) in order to qualify for a $100 bonus.
My friend created a new account, verified their information, and satisfied their requirement by depositing and wagering $100 in less than 30 days. They also had to bet on sporting events with -200 odds or greater. Once they’d satisfied all these stipulations, my friend and I each got a $100 bonus.
I saw a BetMGM promo that promised to “spice up my account” based on my favorite football team. I navigated to the corresponding icon and clicked “Pick Your Team” to get started. I was presented with helmets for the leading football team in all fifty states. I selected “New York (N).”
After I’d made my selection, I was prompted to wager on my team. I clicked “Bet Now” and I was redirected to their NFL markets to place my first bet on the New York Giants.
I didn’t see any change in the odds I’d scouted out beforehand, so I’m not entirely sure how they intended to “spice up my account.” In the advert, they mention both “customized content” and “special offers," but nothing was forthcoming right off the bat.
I’ll be back to update this review if I ever receive a message or special promotion related to picking my favorite squad.
I saw that I could enjoy a free baseball minigame, all-new game hosted by BetMGM. I clicked “Play Now” and I was transported to home plate. I picked a quadrant from the screen in hopes of hitting a home run to claim $50 in bonus bets. Hitting a single, double, or triple also guarantees you a tempting prize.
I didn’t get lucky off the bat (pun intended), but I came back daily to swing for the fences. I saw that I could claim Parlay Boost Tokens, Odds Boost Tokens, and SGP Boost Tokens. Prizes will vary depending on what state you’re in, but here’s what their reward structure looks like in NY.
Landing a single would have earned me a 25% Parlay Boost Token, subject to at least three legs and +400 odds. Hitting a double delivers a 33% same-game parlay (SGP) Boost Token with the same wagering restrictions. A triple would give me a 33% odds boost token with no restrictions.
Slamming the ball for a home run would earn me a $50 Bonus Bet with -200 minimum odds.
I really enjoyed this promo. I like the simplicity of the game and the fact that there are genuine rewards up for grabs if you get lucky.
This bonus isn’t listed on BetMGM’s promotions page, but I saw an opportunity to win 25% more on PGA Tour wagers, thanks to a small advertisement at the top of the page. I clicked the golden icon and I was redirected to their PGA Tour markets. I placed a bet on Sungjae Im to bring home a first-place win at +1400 odds but my wager flopped.
This is a great example of an ongoing promo from BetMGM, which gets updated all the time depending on what’s happening in the sporting calendar. I know from experience that you can expect odds boosts, parlay bonuses, SGP tokens, bonus bets and other promos on all kinds of sports.
I’m a huge fan of BetMGM Rewards and MGM Rewards, which are BetMGM’s overarching loyalty programs. BetMGM Rewards is focused on online benefits, while MGM Rewards involves perks at in-person MGM resorts. The two are very much connected, too.
It’s a little complicated, but here’s how it works:
Any time you bet real money at BetMGM, you earn both Tier Credits and BetMGM Rewards Points or BRPs. You can also earn Tier Credits whenever you spend money at more than 20 MGM resorts around the US. BRPs are only earned online at BetMGM.
BRPs can be redeemed for different prizes or perks online at the BetMGM Rewards Store. They include bonus bets, odds boost tokens and more betting promos.
Alternatively, you can convert your BRPs into MGM Rewards Points. While BRPs are used for redeeming prizes online, MGM Rewards Points can be used for all kinds of real life perks, like restaurant vouchers, discounted hotel stays, concert tickets and more.
Tier Credits, which you earn both online and at in-person resorts, determine your Tier Status. Every time you reach a new Tier, you unlock new benefits, both online and offline.
There are five Tiers in total:
Sapphire (up to 19,999 Tier Credits)
Pearl (20,000 Tier Credits)
Gold (75,000 Tier Credits)
Platinum (200,000 Tier Credits)
NOIR (invitation only)
Rewards range from hotel discounts to personal account management, fine dining accommodations, and luxury gifts. As a new player, I started at “Sapphire.”
As a Sapphire member, I was able to see the lowest possible room rates for BetMGM-affiliated hotels. I could get a 40% discount on select shows from Cirque du Soleil and I earned a 35% discount for select categories on America’s Got Talent LIVE.
I didn’t actually attend any of these events in the week I spent testing BetMGM for this review, but I can totally see myself using these types of discounts in the future. It’s a genuine money saver and goes above and beyond the standard bonus bets and cashback offers you get from most sportsbook rewards programs. And that’s just the introductory tier!
I didn’t stick around long enough to advance to their second “Pearl” tier, but players will need to accumulate 20,000 points before moving up the ladder. Pearl members receive the same exact VIP benefits as Sapphire members, plus quarterly cruise discounts and non-expiring points.
Moving from Pearl to Gold requires you to earn 75,000 total Rewards Points, and this is where the benefits really start to show. Gold members will hop in a separate line to book hotels, enjoy exclusive Tier appreciation events, and gain VIP access to select nightclubs along with a guest.
Platinum members who earn 200,000 Rewards Points will unlock a dedicated line at the Cashier Cage. They’ll also get annual benefits in an ocean view stateroom for up to 5 nights on qualifying cruises offered by Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.
BetMGM’s final “NOIR” tier is accessible by invite-only, and it boosts your annual benefits from five to seven nights on qualifying cruises. You can even get up to 15% off your retail shopping.
There are too many benefits to list on this page, but their rewards program is second-to-none.
Even if you’re not familiar with online sports betting, you won’t have trouble navigating BetMGM. Their user interface feels orderly and efficient, making it easy to browse between categories or place bets with one click. It’s clear that BetMGM has geared their sportsbook toward beginners, but there is clearly still enough functionality to satisfy more experienced bettors.
I was able to see how long I’d been logged in using the miniature timer at the top of my screen. I quickly alternated between their sporting events and promotions by clicking each corresponding button. Directly underneath the BetMGM logo, I saw a menu row filled with available categories.
If you want a clearer view of the sports on offer at BetMGM, scroll all the way to the right side of the screen and click “A-Z Sports.” This brought up a screen detailing their categories in list form.
They currently offer moneylines, futures, prop bets, point spreads, and over/under for 24 sport categories (not including horse racing, which is only available in Florida, Ohio, and Louisiana).
I clicked the magnifying glass icon to quickly search for specific events, categories, and players.
I was able to make deposits, view messages from BetMGM, and access my profile settings with the three buttons at the top-right corner of my screen.
Going back to their homepage, I noticed a static promotional banner directly above the left sidebar, which lists all their available categories.
Near the middle of the screen, there’s a running list of upcoming events for tens of categories. If you look to the right side of the homepage, you’ll see your Bet Slip. I found this feature useful for multi-tasking. I never lost track of the bets I was lining up as I combed through various events.
I scrolled down to BetMGM’s website footer and found a laundry list of important links separated by column. Going from left to right, they list popular categories in addition to their Sports Betting Guide and Sports House Rules. I was able to view their Promotions section next to this column.
Underneath the “About Us” column, I found a button that redirected me to their “Time-Out” page. That link is followed by their General Terms of Service, Banking Information, BetMGM Rewards Program, Responsible Gaming webpage, and a list of states where BetMGM currently operates.
BetMGM’s “Support” column allowed me to see their FAQ, get in touch with a real agent via live chat and email, read their Privacy Policy, and modify my Cookie Settings for advertisement and tracking purposes. They also run a sports betting blog detailing their experts’ latest predictions.
I was ultimately more than satisfied with their desktop website. It feels like the sweet spot between being easy-to-use and beginner-friendly, but also with lots of interesting features.
Next, I downloaded “BetMGM Sportsbook” from the App Store on my iPhone 13 to proceed with mobile testing. My betting experience felt similarly fluid. I enjoyed quick loading speeds, lag-free streaming, and single-tap transactions.
Their mobile interface relies heavily on their desktop website for inspiration, and there are only a handful of noticeable changes to mention. Your Bet Slip is collapsible, and you can pull it up with one tap. I enjoyed being able to access their live markets and events without losing my bet slip.
BetMGM’s sports sidebar isn’t present on the app. Instead, their top row of categories has been turned into a scrollable list. I was able to initiate deposits with an identical button at the top-right corner of my screen, and I accessed my profile settings using the tab at the bottom-right corner.
I didn’t have any trouble adjusting to their mobile platform, and even with so many sports and events on offer, I never felt overwhelmed while placing my bets. If you’re looking for a time-tested sportsbook that delivers an equally fantastic user experience on desktop and mobile, look no further. BetMGM is among the best sportsbook betting apps.
It’s a big thumbs up from me for the features available at BetMGM. Starting with the basics, the range of popular betting markets is among the best in the country. You can bet on everything from moneylines, spreads, and totals to hyper-specific prop bets on dozens of sports. There are lots of other interesting features that contribute to the overall experience, too.
I’m going into more detail on the different sections below.
I’ve used all the top sportsbooks in the US, and BetMGM is definitely one of the best. if you’re simply looking for a wide range of classic bets. It’s very easy to find and place moneylines, point spreads, and totals on the latest action, as well as year-round futures on big events like the Super Bowl or the World Cup.
Prop betting, which lets you bet on individual instances within games, is very popular too, and I’ve regularly seen prop bets available on BetMGM that I haven’t seen anywhere else.
As I'm going to get into, there are lots of creative tools and features on offer that go beyond more classic sports betting. However, if you’re looking for the classics, they are here.
I was able to put together same-game parlays within seconds. First up, I decided to include a bet on Luis Gil of the New York Yankees to score under 8.5 points.
After clicking "Parlays,” I noticed all the individual bets I could place on the Angels and Yankees.
I was able to bet on the Yankees winning by at least 5.5 points, wager the moneyline with an added prediction about both teams scoring a total of 6 home runs, and view positive/negative odds for each prediction.
I added two more events to my bet slip, which would pay me +1800 if my parlay predictions were correct.
Although I wasn’t a winner, I enjoyed tinkering around with BetMGM’s available markets. They provide various parlay tools to make it easy to build both regular parlays and Same-Game parlays.
As I scrolled down BetMGM’s login screen, I noticed a button labeled “Build Parlay” underneath major events. I decided to make a double-legged SGP involving Paul Blackburn of the New York Mets and Ryan Feltner, the starting pitcher for the Colorado Rockies.
I clicked “Build Parlay” and I was brought to the following screen.
I was able to view percentage probabilities for their spread bets, over/unders, and moneylines. I kept scrolling down to find the most popular bets placed on various Mets and Rockies players. I predicted that Brenton Doyle would hit over 1.5 and that Michael Toglia would hit under 1.5.
I also saw betting options for the total number of bases covered. The rest of their available bets are over/unders predicting how many RBIs were hit, how many runs they scored and how many strikeouts each pitcher was able to pull off. Not many sportsbooks offer this much betting range, and I love how easy BetMGM makes it to set up your bets.
Check out how BetMGM Sportsbooks compares to other parlay betting sites and apps.
I clicked “Easy Parlay” at the top of my screen to access BetMGM’s parlay builder. At the time, they were showing moneylines, spread bets, and totals for NHL, soccer, and MLB games.
I’m a big hockey fan, so I didn’t mind waiting until October to watch the Buffalo Sabres wipe the field with the New Jersey Devils. I added the St. Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, and Boston Bruins to my parlay by clicking the corresponding tab.
I went to my bet slip to confirm the picks. I was able to put together parlays without much effort. In addition to predicting the spread, I bet on both teams to score upwards of 6.5 points, including overtime and penalty shoot-outs.
I clicked “Live” at the top of my screen to access BetMGM’s in-game wagering opportunities.
As with all live betting sportsbooks, the range of bets varies a lot depending on what time of day you normally sign into your account.
I first checked the live section late at night on the East Coast and found just a handful of international sports. When I came back for a second look at noon (EST), I discovered open lines for basketball, tennis, golf, athletics, and beach volleyball.
I was able to see the latest game stats at a glance, making it easier for me to place an informed live wager. Having access to fast, real-time information is important for live betting, and BetMGM excels in this regard.
After opening a market for an ATP tennis match, I noticed how many points each player had at that moment. I could also see which set and game they were currently playing.
I predicted that Rinky Hijikata of Australia would keep up his momentum to beat Taro Daniel of Japan. Their odds changed from -900 to -1600 after Rinky Hijikata scored another point. To my surprise, there were a total of 39 total bets for me to explore.
I noticed handicap wagers, point spreads, totals, and prop wagers. Even if my player didn’t win the match, making specific predictions would (hopefully) allow me to walk away with something.
BetMGM’s live markets are changing all the time, but they cover the vast majority of their 24 available sports categories whenever a major tournament or event is taking place.
BetMGM is one of the few sportsbooks that allows players to stream real-time sporting events via their desktop website and mobile app. If BetMGM is currently covering a major tournament (or any other events), you’ll be able to access the ongoing footage in their Live Betting section.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could live-stream Rinky Hijikata and Taro Daniel’s game. I clicked the miniature video button and watched real-time footage. Scrolling down the webpage, I discovered numerous upcoming tennis events that also supported live-streaming.
However, live streaming isn’t always available. They don’t provide their players with a specific, unchanging number of live streaming categories. The only way to see which (if any) events are ongoing is by checking the “Live Streaming” tab yourself to see what’s going on.
BetMGM’s horse racing events are only available for players in Florida, Louisiana, and Ohio. If you live in any of these three states, you can download their dedicated horse racing app or see their racebook website on desktop. They accept win, place, and show wagers across 42 tracks.
As of right now, the BetMGM mobile app for horse racing has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating based on 172 App Store reviews.
BetMGM Casino offers more than 1,000 casino-style slots, table games, live games and specialties for players living in Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The total number of games can vary from state to state. In addition to listing a downloadable casino app for iOS and Android, they have a dedicated poker site for players in MI, NJ, and PA.
Cash games, poker tournaments, freerolls, and prize pool events are in abundance at BetMGM. If you feel like participating in tourneys on-the-go, you can download the BetMGM app for poker.
Check out more in our detailed BetMGM Casino review, where we go into more detail about what BetMGM has to offer.
BetMGM’s early cash-out feature is one of my personal favorites. It allows you to “get out” while your bet is still good. Nearly all their sporting events and markets support early cash-outs, but the amount you receive will fluctuate depending on the nature and trajectory of any given event.
It’s worth noting that sites like BetMGM tend to charge a premium to utilize the early cash-out feature, so your payout odds for the money you cash-out are worse than if you had simply bet on that specific outcome initially. Plus, you’ll obviously get paid out less than if you held your nerve until the bet settled.
Still, it’s a fun feature that gives the player more control.
If you’ve ever regretted not adding that final leg to your parlay, BetMGM’s “Edit My Bet” feature is here to help. I was able to change my wager amount, add predictions to existing parlays and remove parlay picks that weren’t living up to my expectations.
This feature is most useful if you’re anything like me. I often find myself browsing more than one sports category at a time, and I tend to alternate between viewing NFL and NCAA events. Being able to modify live wagers feels like a godsend. I saved money by cutting out a few bad apples.

As I was gathering information for this BetMGM review, I was pleasantly surprised by their range of deposit and withdrawal options. Compared to competing platforms like bet365 and BetRivers, BetMGM is compatible with more e-wallets; they accept PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Play+.
Unfortunately, bettors in New York can only use PayPal or Trustly to deposit funds. If you decide to go with PayPal, you’ll need to connect a valid bank account. Even if your debit and/or credit card is linked to PayPal, New York bettors can’t use their bank cards to deposit in any capacity.
This left me feeling a tad frustrated, but I eventually opted to deposit $10 through PayPal. I had my bank account linked to PayPal already, so I didn’t need to take any other steps. I first clicked “Deposit” at the top-right corner of my screen before choosing “PayPal” from the next webpage.
I entered “10” in the amount bar, but high rollers can deposit up to $10,000 at once. I clicked the “Deposit” button to continue. I was then prompted to “Proceed to PayPal” on the next webpage.
If you’re not logged into your PayPal account already, you’ll be asked to enter your email and/or mobile phone number. After logging into my PayPal, I was asked to confirm the deposit amount.
I clicked “Complete Purchase” to finalize my initial transaction, and I saw my balance update seconds after refreshing the page. It took me three days to win $20 and request my first-ever BetMGM withdrawal. I opened my profile settings and clicked “Withdraw.”
I wasn’t able to switch to another withdrawal method, so I was forced to use VIP Preferred. I entered $20 into the amount bar, confirmed the last 2 digits of my account number, and clicked “Withdraw” again.
One day after submitting my original request, I noticed an extra $20 in my checking balance. This is pretty fast and on par with other fast payout sportsbooks.
Depending on which financial institution you bank with, you may have to wait between 1-5 days before seeing your winnings delivered. Even though I wasn’t happy with their limited payment options for New York sports bettors, I found the actual process very simple.
I’m very impressed with (and jealous of!) the range of sportsbook payment options for users in other states.
Another thing you should be aware is that, due to regulations, Discover cards are not accepted in Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts and New York. It's starting to look like living in NY is more of a curse than a blessing.
Here’s how BetMGM’s deposit and withdrawal methods compare to those offered by 4 big-name competitors: FanDuel, Caesars, bet365, and BetRivers.

I scrolled down to BetMGM’s website footer and clicked “Help & Customer Care” to evaluate any support options I could find. Their FAQ features helpful information about verifying your account, making deposits, claiming bonuses, receiving payouts, placing bets, and fixing technical issues.
At the top of their FAQ page, I noticed a “Contact Us” button advertising 24/7 live chat support.
I clicked “Live Chat” from the next screen.
A miniature chat box popped up at the bottom-right corner of my screen. I clicked on “Account Verification” to learn more about their required documents.
I confirmed my date of birth, registered email, and full name with their AI chatbot before getting transferred to a live agent named Jocelle. I had a pleasant and helpful conversation about what documents I needed to verify. I was told I’d need my ID card and proof of address.
I’d like to see BetMGM implement a phone hotline, but their live chat feature does the trick, in my opinion. Next, I clicked “Email” from the previous screen. I entered my email and chose “Promotions and Bonuses” from the drop-down menu after clicking “Subject.”
Next, I wrote a message inquiring about any potential sign-up bonuses for New York players. I received a return email six hours after submitting my original message, but I was told that they don’t have anything in the pipeline for NY bettors at the moment.
As a whole, I’m satisfied with the quality and efficiency of BetMGM’s customer support team. I followed BetMGM on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (X) before sending an introductory DM, but I didn’t get a reply on any of their socials.
As I’d expect from one of the largest retail sportsbook brands in the United States, BetMGM offers a suite of comprehensive, responsible gambling tools. While logged into my account, I tapped on my profile at the top-right corner of the screen and clicked “Responsible Gaming.”
I was able to set daily, weekly, and monthly deposit limits, loss limits, and session time limits. I appreciated the ability to implement personalized restrictions without getting support involved. Should you alter these limits in the future, you’ll have to wait for their 72-hour cooldown period.
Interestingly enough, I noticed that responsible gaming limits don’t apply to players in Nevada or Puerto Rico. While this was disappointing, I liked their “Withdrawal Lock-In” feature. I could stop myself from reversing particular transactions by checking a box each time I requested a payout.
BetMGM’s “Time-Out” feature allows players to take a break from gambling for a short period of time. During a time-out period, you won’t be able to make deposits, place bets, update personal information or receive promotional emails. However, you can still withdraw any remaining funds.
I saw that I could take a break for 3 days, a week, two weeks, three weeks, four weeks, or any length of time up to a maximum of one year. This is optional, but you can disclose why you feel the need to take a break.
If you wish to distance yourself from BetMGM for a longer period of time, they link to New York’s voluntary self-exclusion form. You can opt to revoke account access for a minimum of one year, three years, five years, or the rest of your life. Keep in mind that self-exclusions are irreversible.
Nothing should be of higher priority than responsible gambling. If sports betting gets to the point where it's a problem, there is no shame in getting some help.
If you're looking for more info about responsible gambling, check out WSN Responsible Gambling Center, where you can find some valuable tools, guides, and resources.

BetMGM’s simple registration process took me just 10 minutes to complete. As far as signing up with a sportsbook is concerned, BetMGM won’t intimidate beginners. I’m detailing the four steps I followed to make a new account, deposit $10 with PayPal, and complete their KYC verification.
1. Create a new account: Go to BetMGM site and click the yellow “Sign Up” button at the top-right corner of the screen.
Enter your preferred email address on the following page. You can also choose to register using your existing PayPal or Yahoo! Sports account. Once you’re done, click “Continue” to proceed.
Create a secure password with at least eight characters, one number, and both uppercase and lowercase letters. Click “Continue” to proceed.
2. Enter personal details: Enter your full, legal name on the following webpage. It should match however your full name appears on your driver’s license, passport, or another form of valid ID.
Tap “Continue” and enter the last 4 digits of your social security number (SSN) when prompted.
Enter your birthday in MM-DD-YYYY format. You must be 21 years old to make a new account.
Enter your mobile phone number and verify the 4-digit code you receive via SMS text message.
Enter your address manually or select the appropriate billing address from the drop-down menu.
Lastly, tick each of the three checkboxes on the final screen and enter BetMGM bonus code WSNSPORTS.
Ticking the first checkbox certifies that you’re at least 21 years old and that you’re not accessing BetMGM from a prohibited state.
Ticking the second box signifies that you’ve provided entirely accurate personal information.
Checking the third box confirms that you agree to their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Once you’re done reading these documents, click “Complete Registration” to finish signing up.
3. Make your first deposit: New sign-ups in all BetMGM legal states (excluding NY, NC, NV, and PR) will qualify for up to $1,500 in first bet insurance when they deposit and wager $10. Once you’re logged in, click on “Deposit” at the top-right corner of your screen to get started.
Choose your preferred payment method from the following screen. I used PayPal to initiate my first deposit, but I couldn’t claim their $1,500 first deposit bonus because I live in New York.
I learned that New York only allows players to make deposits using their bank account or PayPal balance.
Enter the amount you’d like to deposit. In this case, I entered “10” in the appropriate field before clicking “Deposit” once again.
Click “Proceed to PayPal” to continue or use an alternative payment method if you’d like. I was redirected to PayPal’s website, where I was asked to sign in and link my bank account balance to my PayPal account. New York doesn’t take credit or debit card transactions through PayPal.
Click “Complete Purchase” to finalize your transaction if everything looks okay. During testing, I received my deposited funds immediately.
4. Finish your KYC: I decided to get BetMGM’s verification process out of the way before testing their sportsbook features. You have to complete their KYC before withdrawing any winnings, and I recommend doing it right away to save hassle down the road.
From the login screen, click your profile icon at the top-right corner. Scroll to “Account Settings” and click “Upload Documents” from the next screen.
Tap “Continue” and upload a photocopy of the front and back of your driver’s license or ID card. If all goes well, you’ll receive a notification that your documents were uploaded successfully.
Once finished, go back to the verification screen and select “Bank Statement” from their menu.
Click “Continue” and upload a PDF or JPG copy of your most recent bank statement. They can’t accept documents more than 3 months (90 days) old.
You also need to upload proof of address in the form of a utility bill. Again, your document must be no more than 3 months or 90 days old. Go back to their verification screen and select “Utility Bill” from the menu.
Click “Continue” and upload a PDF or JPG copy of your utility bill. It must have your full address.
Finally, click “Continue.” You’ll wait anywhere from 24 to 72 hours for one of BetMGM’s agents to verify your data. I received an email confirming that my identity had been verified 24 hours after I finished my KYC. That was all I had to do before receiving withdrawals from my bank account.
Before we begin writing content, we spend at least 10 hours testing the sportsbook over the course of a week. Our experts understand the value of hands-on research, and we never rely on information we haven’t found ourselves. This hands-on approach is the cornerstone of our rating process.
For every review, we spend a minimum of two hours considering each of the following five factors:
We personally tested the user experience offered by each sportsbook on desktop and mobile. We prioritize platforms that feature a downloadable app for iOS and Android devices. We also look for beginner-friendly instructions, intuitive navigation features, and efficient menu organization. This section is all about how a site feels to use, what makes it unique and where its software can fall down.
Our team registers with each sportsbook to evaluate and compare their stand-out features. We like to see online sportsbooks that offer live-streaming directly on the website, and we prioritize platforms with a broad selection of live markets. Our team places real wagers on parlays, lines, point spreads, futures, and more. We give a higher rating to sites offering numerous categories and unique features, but we also want it to be easy to stick to the basics on a wide range of sports.
Our team leaves no stone unturned as we opt into any and all promotions we can find at a given sportsbook. We explain the claim process for each bonus, delve deeper to look for unfair T&C’s, and prioritize sportsbooks that offer frequent odds boosts. We like to see welcome offers that really add value for new users.
We deposit real money and initiate actual withdrawals at every sportsbook we review. Our team rates sportsbooks more favorably if they accept PayPal, Apple Pay, Venmo, Play+, and a variety of e-wallets. We prioritize platforms with low transaction minimums and high payout maximums. Finally, we document withdrawal speeds for bank transfers and other available payout methods.
If a sportsbook doesn’t offer competent and knowledgeable customer support, we can’t endorse them. Our team gets in touch with real agents via live chat, email, phone, and social media. Not having access to 24/7 support is a dealbreaker for us. In addition to prioritizing sportsbooks that send fast replies on all fronts, we consider the quality and efficiency of individual conversations.
WSN is the premier independent review site for licensed sportsbooks and casinos. Our experts have been playing online and reviewing sites since 2005. We’ve earned the recognition of CBS News, Forbes, the LA Times, Reuters, ESPN, and Entrepreneur over the past 19 years.
Authenticity is in short supply these days, and that’s why our team focuses on testing each site for ourselves. Even the first search result on Google is often misleading or incorrect, especially when it comes to the online sportsbook industry. Our primary job is to provide our personal perspective based on first-hand research.
Our team brings more than two decades of combined, hands-on experience to each published review. We spend up to a week creating new accounts, testing features, and documenting our experiences. While we praise deserving online sportsbooks, we don’t sugarcoat our criticisms or pull any punches. If something needs to be improved, we call it out.
As avid players in our free time, we know what it’s like to use a lackluster site. We prioritize your best interests by only endorsing sportsbooks that we ourselves would - and do - use.

BetMGM is an excellent sportsbook, even if their best promotions aren’t available for NY bettors like myself. They feature competitive odds for 24 popular sports categories, offer live-streaming on their website, and guarantee a fluid UX on desktop and mobile with their downloadable app.
I was a personal fan of their wide range of interesting features, which they managed to combine with a beginner-friendly user interface. I was never at a loss for my next wager, and their MGM Rewards loyalty program is the best in the business. I can’t think of another sportsbook willing to give me 15% off on my next shopping spree.
BetMGM also offers fantastic customer service options. I received 24/7 assistance through live chat and email. They don’t have a phone hotline, but their Help Center is incredibly detailed.
If you’re looking for a sportsbook and casino with no weaknesses and tons of features, I recommend you try BetMGM.
