Best Olympics Womens Basketball Prop Bets 2024 08 07

Spain vs. Belgium

  • Location: Bercy Arena Lille in Paris, France

  • Game Time & Date: 8:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday, August 7

  • Coverage: Peacock

  • Point Spread: Belgium -5.5 via BetMGM

Emma Meesseman (Belgium), OVER 23.5 Points at -120 via BetMGM

She has been productive on the scoreboard whether the tram wins or loses with 26.3 ppg (vs. Germany (25). USA (24), and Japan(30)). China was the toughest offense Spain faced in pool play. While Spain won, China's leading scorer (Yueru Li) had 31 points.

Because of that game, betting on OVER 29.5 at +300 may not be too crazy. Based on Meesseman's overall performance in the Olympics, she will likely be good for 23.5+ against Spain.

Megan Gustafson, OVER 17.5 Points via BetMGM

Gustason has been leading the way for an undefeated Spain squad. However, her production has been all over the place. She had 29 vs. China and 18 against Puerto Rico, but then only four points vs. Serbia (in just 17:04). Belgium has a decent defense, but like Meesseman, she will get her shots.

Unless she gets hurt, she'll likely play 30+ minutes in this game.

Germany vs. France

  • Location: Bercy Arena Lille in Paris, France

  • Game Time & Date: 12 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 7

  • Coverage: Peacock

  • Point Spread: France -5.5 via BetMGM

Satou Sabally (Germany), UNDER 18.5 Points at +100 via BetMGM

Sabally was the second-leading scorer in pool play, averaging 21.7 ppg. However, that number is a little misleading because she had 33 points against Japan (17 and 15 in her other two games). Based on that information, the over appears to be a decent choice.

However, France has been a decent defensive team, allowing just two players to score 18 points, but no one scored over 18.5. A solid argument could be made that France will be the toughest team Germany has faced, other than the U.S. (whom she had 15 points against).

If you do not believe in France's defense and think Sabally could go off like she did against Japan, BetMGM offers OVER 24.5 points at +300.

Gabby Williams (France), UNDER 13.5 Points at +100 via BetMGM

  • UNDER 4.5 Rebounds at -140 via BetMGM

France's game plan appears to be to play solid defense and efficient offense without relying too much on one player. They have yet to have a leading scorer record more than 15 points (once by Williams); she had 12 and 13 points in her other two games.

Germany is a decent defensive team, which will encourage France not to lean on any one player too much. Unless she plays around 30+ minutes and/or gets fouled early and often, she will not score over 13.5 points in this game.

As for her rebound numbers, she had four against Australia, five against Nigeria, and just three against Canada. France is not a strong rebounding team; there is no reason to think that will change in this game.

Nigeria vs. USA

  • Location: Bercy Arena Lille in Paris, France

  • Game Time & Date: 3:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 7

  • Coverage: Peacock

  • Point Spread: USA -27.5 via BetMGM

A'ja Wilson (USA), OVER 21.5 at -120 via BetMGM

She had a disappointing night against Germany in the pool play closer with just 14 points in roughly 24 minutes on the floor. But with the stars on the U.S. roster, Team USA could afford not to rely on her (or Breanna Stewart) in that game—so they didn't.

But with single elimination for the remainder of the tournament, the U.S. will likely unleash Wilson and Stewart on Nigeria. If you think she might have a massive night, consider taking the OVER on her alternate point total, OVER 29.5 points at +425.

Breanna Stewart (USA), OVER 17.5 at -120 via BetMGM

Along with Wilson, Stewart has been a beast on the scoreboard for the U.S.—just not against Germany (13 points in roughly 16 minutes. But with elimination on the line, the U.S. will unleash its full complement of weapons, including Stewart, on Nigeria.

Nigeria does not have a defense that can stop them.

Ezinne J. Kalu (Nigeria), UNDER 17.5 Points + Assists at +100 via BetMGM

For a player averaging 19.3 ppg, taking the under here must seem like a pretty bad idea. She’ll go over the total on points alone! Eh—maybe., but we don’t think so. She has yet to face a defense that compares to the U.S.

They did give up 24 to a player vs. Japan, and Belgium’s Emma Meessman also scored 24 points, but then they clamped down on Germany and held their leading scorer and the tournament’s second-best, Satou Sabally, to just 15.

She didn’t play in the 100-46 beatdown but did play against the U.S. in the Tokyo Olympics. She played around 28 minutes in that game and had 16 points and two assists.

We think she’ll lead the team in scoring, but her total will be around 14 points. Regarding her assists numbers, she has recorded two twice but had five in the win over Australia. Consequently, we doubt she’ll have more than two vs. the U.S.
