Soccer at Olympics 2024 Predictions

Who Will Win Olympics Men's Soccer 2024?

France (-138) at bet365

France kicked off their Olympics campaign on home soil with a confident 3-0 victory over the USA. Next came a more unconvincing 1-0 win against Guinea, before Les Bleus rounded off the group phase by beating New Zealand 3-0 and finishing on maximum points. A tricky tie against Argentina awaited in the quarter-finals, but an early goal gave France a 1-0 triumph.

Thierry Henry’s side suffered a scare last time out. They went 1-0 down to Egypt shortly after the hour mark of that semi-final and only equalised late on. France then took the game away from the Pharoahs in extra time, as goals from Jean–Philippe Mateta and Michael Olise gave them a 3-1 win.

France will have the majority of the fans inside the Parc des Princes behind them in the gold medal match. They are justifiably the favorites, but only narrowly given their opponents are also a strong side.

Spain (+100) at bet365

Spain got started this summer with a 2-1 defeat of Uzbekistan in matchday one of the group stage. They then beat the Dominican Republic 3-1, but a weakened side lost 2-1 to Egypt in their final group game and thus knocked Spain off top spot and down to second place. No matter: la Roja made light work of dark horses Japan in the last eight, winning 3-0 in Lyon.

Like France, Spain too fell behind in their semi-final. Morocco broke the deadlock with 37 minutes on the clock, and it took Spain until midway through the second half to level the score. Juanlu then popped up with the winner in the 86th minute, sending Spain through to their first Olympic final since 1992.

Spain are the underdogs for the gold medal game, but that is chiefly because they are playing the hosts. La Roja will believe they are more than a match for France player for player.
