This hasn’t been the most consistent season for the Golden Knights but this is a team that can never be written off.
Vegas is hoping to snap a two-game losing streak against Dallas, and they have one of the healthiest rosters in the league to work with.
The Vegas Golden Knights have been struggling as of late, losing two in a row and going only 3-5-2 in their last ten games.
But this is by no means a bad team and Dallas will have their hands full.
Vegas is the highest shooting team in the league right now and they have the eighth-best power play in the league with a 22.78 percent success rate.
That is their key to victory right there. Vegas has also scored more combined goals this season than their opponents, placing them within the top-15 teams in the league.
The worrisome thing is that regardless of their shot volume, they have one of the worst shooting percentages in the league.
If their shots against a goaltender like Dallas’ Ben Bishop aren’t quality, then they don’t stand a chance.
Defensively, these teams will go back and forth. Vegas has the advantage when it comes to penalties.
They take fewer on average than the Dallas Stars and they have a better a greater ability to kill them off.
They fall short to Dallas, however, in the shots against and goals against.
The Golden Knights have allowed the fifth-most shots against in fact.
They have also allowed 13 more goals this season than their opponents.
The always impressive Marc-Andre Fleury will get the nod between the pipes for the Golden Knights Monday night.
Among some save-of-the-year candidate saves, Fleury has posted a season record of 11-5-1.
He has a goals-against-average of 2.49 and a .921 save percentage. He has registered two shutouts this season.

Dallas has been on a tear as of late and things only got better for them this week as they got back not one, but two key contributors to the team as both forward Roope Hintz and defenseman John Klingberg have returned to the lineup from injury.
Dallas doesn’t have as many combined goals as their opponents but much of that is due to the slow start to their season.
Those struggling days appear to be behind them for the time being.
The key factors for Dallas is that they have a better shooting percentage than Vegas and also have one of the league’s top-five faceoff percentages.
The team’s puck control and possession numbers have been great as of late.
The Stars are also more adept at scoring at even strength than Vegas, who tends to rely on their power play advantages.
The goaltenders have been Dallas’ best defenders as of late but with John Klingberg back in the lineup, things should get even better for the Stars.
The Stars have allowed the third-least amount of goals against this season and have the eighth-best average when it comes to average shots against per game.
They also have the seventh-best penalty kill in the NHL. It is ranked lower than the Vegas’, yes, but they are still within the top-ten in the league.
In goal for the Dallas Stars is expected to be arguably Dallas’ best player: Ben Bishop.
Bishop has turned his season around as of late and has a record this season of 7-5-1. His GAA sits at 2.20 and he has a .928 save percentage.
Vegas and Dallas haven’t played each other since last season. Their last game took place on March 15 and it was the Vegas Golden Knights who came out victorious with a final score of 2-1.
Dallas had had quite a momentum shift over the past two weeks.
Players are returning from injury, the goaltending has been spectacular, and the offense is starting to click.
They have won six games in a row. Vegas, however, is struggling, losing two in a row and winning only three games in their last ten.
What’s at stake is momentum. Dallas can keep climbing the rankings with a seventh win in a row and should Vegas lose a third straight, who’s to say what it could do to their confidence.
It’s a battle of two of the best goaltenders in the NHL. Who will come out on top?
Vegas is the highest shooting team in the league – how will Ben Bishop handle the volume of pucks fired at him Monday night?
Whose streak will come to an end Monday night? Will we see Dallas make it seven wins in a row or will Vegas be able to snap their two-game skid?
These teams are almost equal on the penalty kill, but can Vegas take advantage of their superior power play in order to get pucks into the Dallas net and come out with the victory?
F Valentin Zykov – OUT (suspension)
F Martin Hanzal – DL (back)
F Justin Dowling – day-to-day (upper-body)
D Stephen Johns – DL (head)
