Despite losing their head coach Joel Quenneville earlier this season, the Florida Panthers have not faltered one iota. They are 7-2-1 through their last ten games and have been as sharp as a tack lately. They’ve ripped off three straight wins and are looking to stay undefeated in the month of December. They enter this one having not lost since November 27th while also posting an impressive 16 goals in their last three games. It’s hard to get any hotter than these Panthers right now in the NHL.

Florida Panthers vs St. Louis Blues Pick

We like Florida to stay hot with a 4-3 win over St. Louis on Tuesday night.

Panthers Vs Blues December 7

As we saw on Saturday night, the Panthers and Blues are two squads that match up quite well. In that 4-3 Florida shootout win, we were treated to two young clubs that are built with speed and built to last. Although St. Louis came out of the gates with a few stumbles this season, they’ve picked up the slack nicely. The Panthers, meanwhile, really haven’t faltered whatsoever.

The bottom line is, both of these very accountable teams have found ways to put W’s on the board in bulk which should make for a fun little matchup on Tuesday night.

The Panthers Are the Best of the Best

Florida has gone from bottom dwellers just a few years back to up and comers and they’ve now officially arrived. This Panthers team is young, they’re relentless and they’re not going away any time soon. They have the best goal differential in the East, along with the best record, most wins and at 3.83 they’ve also got the second-best goals per game in the league. They are an offensive juggernaut in every sense of the word.

Defensively, they’ve also been strong allowing only 67 goals through 24 games. Through their recent homestand, which included that 4-3 win over the Blues this past weekend, FLA went 3-1  to give them a home ice tally of a league-best 14-1-0 record for the season. The road has been a bit of a different story mind you as the team is just 3-3-3 this season. The Blues need to try and capitalize on that blemish as best they can and hope that the Panthers jet lag is their friend.

St. Louis Needs to Rebuild the Fortress

During the Blues Stanley Cup run a few years back, the Enterprise Center was a hard building for any opposing squad to step into. The Blues need to rebuild that reputation. We’re sure Laura Brannigan had a lot to do with that, but either way, St. Louis needs to pack the rafters and they better do it fast. As mentioned, the road woes are really the only weakness in this Panthers bunch so this could be a good opportunity for the Blues faithful to resurrect their old ways.

Led by centers Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas, these Blues have been deadly down the middle posting the fourth-best goals for in the Western Conference. What’s really been the difference-maker for them though has been their special teams. They’re the second-best team in the NHL with the man advantage scoring on almost a third of all of their power plays. If they can weasel Florida into a few penalties early and or often they could be sitting pretty in this one.
