This Tuesday's match-up between the Los Angeles Kings and the Toronto Maple Leafs is expected to be a fast-paced offensive affair. This game is gonna demand the fast intensity of the Maple Leafs to catch up with the Kings.
One player who is going to be a key factor in the game is Maple Leafs right-wing William Nylander. Through eight games this season, Nylander has accounted for a team-high 12 points, with six of them being goals and six of them being assists. He is going to take serious command of the offense along with center Austin Matthews, who has accounted for 10 points, with seven of them being goals.
The Maple Leafs are averaging 3.5 goals per game, which is ranked ninth in the league, while the Kings are averaging 3.5 goals allowed per game.
The Vancouver Canucks are going into this Tuesday’s matchup with a serious edge on both sides of the ice against the Nashville Predators. The Predators are allowing an average of 2.63 goals per game, just behind of the Canucks’ defense, which allows an average of 2.38 goals per game.
The Canucks will need a reliable set of offensive players, including their main assist leader in center Elias Pettersson, who has accounted for 13 total points this season and 11 assists. He has been one of the best passers not only for the Canucks but for the entire NHL.
He's averaging well more than one assist per game, which should make it an easy bet for Pettersson to account for one assist in the game against the Predators.
The New York Rangers (6-2) have been one of the impressive teams that do not possess an undefeated record. What makes them great is their defensive efficiency, as they are ranked second in the league in goals allowed per game (2.00), only behind the Boston Bruins (1.5).
The Rangers have a chance to continue their defensive dominance as they go on the road to take on the Winnipeg Jets (4-3-1). The Jets are tied for 12th in the league in goals per game (3.38), but they are among one of the worst power play scoring offenses at 12.9%.
The Rangers have two great goalies, but they might even have shot blockers in defenders Jacob Trouba and Nick Bonino. At 35 years old, Bonino has accounted for 28 blocked shots.
Jacob Trouba has accounted for a team-high 29 blocked shots in eight games for an average of 3.6 blocked shots per game. He is averaging 20:32 minutes on the ice so he will have many opportunities to account for more than three blocked shots.
