My Pick – Adam Fox Prop To Account for Over 0.5 Points (-166)
The New York Rangers (7-2) host a critical game against fellow Metropolitan Divisional rival the Carolina Hurricanes (6-4). The Rangers do not need much to score against one of the worst defenses in the league in the Hurricanes.
Defender Adam Fox has been one of the stellar players for the Rangers this season. In nine games this season, Fxo has accounted for 11 points, with three of them being goals and eight being assists. He has been one of the more active defenders on the offensive side of the ice for the Rangers this season.
The Hurricanes are ranked fourth in the league in the most goals allowed per game, allowing an average of 3.7 goals per game. This will give players like Fox several opportunities to make a big impact in the game and account for potentially more points than anticipated.
My Pick – Drew Doughty Prop To Account for Over 0.5 Points (+100)
The Los Angeles Kings (5-2-2) are starting to find the rhythm and accounting for big wins, as they have won three of their last four. The Kings are set to go on the road to take on the Ottawa Senators (4-4), who are playing their first game since firing general manager Pierre Dorion.
Los Angeles is first in the league in goals per game (4.33) and has serious room for improvement. One player who looks to get better as the season progresses is defender Drew Doughty. In nine games this season, Doughty has accounted for six points, with four being goals and two being assists. He is one of nine players for the Kings who have taken 17 shots this season, but he also averages the most time on the ice at 26:15.
Last season, Doughty accounted for 52 points, which was the third-most in his career.
My Pick – Jack Hughes Prop To Account for Over 1.5 Points (+114)
The second-ranked offense in the NHL - the New Jersey Devils (5-2-1), is set to take on the worst defense in the league, the Minnesota Wild (3-4-2). The Devils average 4.13 goals per game and only eight games played. The Wild give up 4.11 goals per game, easily the most in the league.
Devil center Jack Hughes has been the most efficient offensive player this season, as he has accounted for 18 points with five goals and a team-high 13 assists. He is averaging 2.25 points per game in his nine games played this season.
Hughes is a player who takes advantage of poor defensive matchups and exploits them by setting up stellar shots for his teammates. The Wild team has the talent to be good on the defensive side of the ice but has yet to establish some consistency. It is highly unlikely that they will find that consistency against the Devils.
