It isn't often that we see an early afternoon game in the NHL, but we are set to see a potentially high-scoring game between the Detroit Red Wings at the Ottawa Senators. The Senators' offense ranks third in the league in goals per game (3.85) while the Red Wings are ranked fourth in goals per game (3.67).
Leading the charge for the Red Wings are center Dylan Larkin and forward Alex DeBrincat. Larkin is the player who is the court general to look for a solid scoring opportunity through efficient passes.
DeBrincat has scored 15 points this season (second-most this season) while scoring a team-high 10 points. He will have the chance to help points on the board against the Senators' defense which allows an average of 3.39 goals per game.
Look for DeBrincat and the Red Wings to make a statement in the matchup against the Senators.

The Pittsburgh Penguins (8-6) are feeling great after a bad start to the 2023-2024 NHL Season. The Penguins are on a five-game win streak and have the potential to easily continue.
On Thursday, they will host the struggling New Jersey Devils, who have lost four of their last five games. They lost their young star in center Jack Hughes in the 4-1 loss at the St. Louis Blues. The Devils are 1-3 in games without Hughes.
The Devils have the third-worst scoring defense in the league, allowing an average of 3.86 goals per game. This will allow a key role player like defender Erik Karlsson to make a big contribution.
Karlsson has accounted for 15 points, which is fourth-most on the team. He has scored five goals while accounting for 10 assists.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are off to a rough start in their goal back to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Lightning have lost four of their last five games as they are on a three-game losing streak. Tampa Bay hasn't scored in their last two games to St. Louis and Carolina.
Despite not scoring in any of the last two games, the Lightning are ranked 14th in the league in goals per game (3.31). They will have a chance to rebound offensively as they go on the road to take on the Chicago Blackhawks, who ranks 23rd in the league in goals allowed per game (3.46).
The Lightning previously lost at home to the Blackhawks 5-3 on November 9.
Forward Nikita Kucherov will need to be the leader for the Lightning to get the team back on track. He has accounted for points in four of the last five games played. Kucherov didn’t play in Tampa Bay’s loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
