The top game of the night is set as the Colorado Avalanche host the Detroit Red Wings in a potential offensive shootout. Both the Avalanche and the Red Wings are among the most explosive offenses in the league. Colorado is ranked first in the league in goals per game (3.65) thanks to a series of reliable, elite stars.
One of those stars in center, Nathan MacKinnon, is among the best players in the entire league. He is only one of two players to account for over 100 points this season.
MacKinnon has accounted for four games where he has accounted for two or more points this season. On Monday, MacKinnon produced his most explosive performance in over a month by accounting for two goals and two assists in the 5-0 home win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
He has a great opportunity to account for another set of two points or more against the Red Wings. This is a defense that is ranked 21st in the league in goals allowed per game (3.2).

Certain games do not have much of an impact on the race for the postseason. The final game of the night between the Ottawa Senators and the Anaheim Ducks has incredible value on the sports gambling side.
Both the Senators and the Ducks possess some of the worst defenses in the entire league. Ottawa allows an average of 3.59 goals per game (30th in the league), while Anaheim allows an average of 3.52 goals per game (28th in the league).
The biggest difference between the two teams that could be the deciding factor is the efficiency of the Senators’ offense. Ottawa is averaging 3.27 goals per game (13th in the league) thanks to a series of reliable scorers.
Center Shane Pinto is a player who has been getting more consistent as the season progresses. Pinto has accounted for 12 points in the 12 games played since the NHL All-Star Break. He has also accounted for a goal or an assist in three of the four games played. With the Ducks possessing a terrible defense, they will be unlikely to stop players like Pinto from getting in the scoring zone for himself or his teammates.
