The biggest game of the night is set for the huge metropolitan divisional matchup between the New Jersey Devils and the Washington Capitals for the third time this season. This game will be the first matchup this season in Washington DC.
The Devils are coming in with a more intense and aggressive offense, while the Capitals are coming in with a stout defense. Washington’s defense ranks 10th in the league in goals allowed per game (2.8).
One of the biggest reasons for the Devils’ elite play on offense is the stellar play of center Jack Hughes, who has accounted for 44 points this season. Hughes has accounted for two or more points in only one of the last seven games this season.
Hughes played in the first matchup against the Capitals, but not in the second game. The Capitals are going to force other players for the Devils to step up and contribute. Hughes could have a limited role for the Devils on Wednesday against the Capitals’ elite defense.

The Toronto Maple Leafs possess one of the most explosive offenses in the NHL this season thanks to the stellar play of their star duo in center Auston Matthews and forward William Nylander. Toronto is ranked sixth in the league in goals per game (3.51) as a result of the great play from both players.
The Maple Leafs are taking on a Ducks’ defense that ranks 24th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.39). This game should be a great opportunity for both Matthews and Nylander to dominate on the ice.
Nylander leads the team in points accounted for (50) and assists accounted for (31). He has accounted for two or more points in three of the last five games for the Maple Leafs. Nylander should have another standout performance against a significantly ineffective Ducks defense, thus earning bettors the opportunity to really earn some winnings.
