The Philadelphia Flyers have a key game tonight as they go on the road to take on the Chicago Blackhawks in a nationally televised game. The Blackhawks are one of the worst teams in the NHL, despite having a potential future superteam in rookie star Connor Bedard.
This game is also a chance to raise the asking price on one of their key players in a trade, center Scott Laughton. There was a point in the season where his lack of productivity affected the Flyers. Within these past few weeks, he has kicked up his performance.
Laughton has accounted for five points in the last four games for the Flyers. The Flyers could use this game to showcase his reliability on national television against the Blackhawks and keep a high asking price for a potential trade. It does help that the Blackhawks have the fourth-worst scoring defense in the league by allowing an average of 3.54 goals per game.
Look for Laughton to start a scoring run, among several players for a mild Flyers offense.

There have been great games between elite teams already this week. The matchup between the Boston Bruins and the Edmonton Oilers is set to be another entertaining matchup that could be high-scoring or low-scoring.
The Bruins possess the fifth-ranked scoring defense (2.64 goals allowed per game). This is going to be a problem even for the Oilers, who possess an offense that averages 3.56 goals per game (fifth in the league).
Since the return of the NHL All-Star Break, Oilers star center Connor McDavid has been playing out of his mind, with 16 points accounted for in seven games. In those seven games, McDavid has accounted for less than two points in three games with defenses that have been or are currently ranked first in the league.
The Oilers'ther star center, Leon Draisaitl, has been playing at a high level as well during the same seven games. He has accounted for two or more points in four of the last six games, including two assists against the Dallas Stars.
The Bruins are going to attempt to lock down McDavid, but it might be too much to lock down two elite offensive players in one game.
