One of the earliest games of the night is set as the Worst team in the league in the San Jose Sharks go on the road to take on a dangerous and Stanley Cup-minded Detroit Red Wings. Detroit is looking to win their seventh game in their last eight matchups with a big win over the Sharks.
The Red Wings possessed the third most efficient scoring offense in the league, averaging 3.79 goals per game. The Sharks, on the other hand, are last in the league in goals allowed per game, averaging four goals allowed per game.
Many players for the Red Wings can get on the board with a goal or an assist, but tonight is the night that newly acquired forward and future Hall of Famer Patrick Kane steps onto the ice for Detroit. The Red Wings will look for Kane to contribute almost immediately after spending some time developing a rhythm and learning the system of the team. This will be the perfect game to ease the transition of Kane to the team.
The Boston Bruins have been on a tear this season as they have won 17 of their 24 games played this season. They have remained one of the most efficient offenses since the start of the 2023-2024-NHL Season.
One of the biggest reasons why they are winning and accounting for huge scores is the stellar play of forward David Pastrnak. Through 24 games this season, he has accounted for a team-high 36 points with 24 goals and 22 assists. He has been the key player and the leader of a stacked Bruins offense. He has 12 games this season where he has accounted for two or more points.
The Bruins are set to host the Buffalo Sabres, who have the 24th-ranked scoring defense in the league (3.46 goals allowed per game). It will take a whole game plan for the Sabres to slow down the momentum and efficiency of Pastrnak on the ice. If he is focused throughout the game by Buffalo’s defense, he is more than capable of setting up key scoring opportunities for his teammates.
One game that isn't going to get a lot of attention in terms of viewers is the matchup between the Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks. Both teams are well under .500% as their seasons have not gone in their favor. As a result of the disappointing seasons, there will not be much attention drawn to this game betting-wise either, but there is significant value in this game.
The Blackhawks have one of the best rookies within the past few seasons in center Connor Bedard. Through 24 games played this season, Bedard has accounted for a team-high 20 points and a team-high 11 goals. He has been the most consistent player for the Blackhawks as well as the spark for the offense that is trying to establish a rhythm.
Chicago is facing an Anaheim team that is ranked 27th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.78). Chicago's potential to win this game will mostly revolve around the scoring potential of Bedard.
