The first game in round one between the Toronto Maple leaves at the Boston Bruins was not as close as many experts project this game to be. The Bruins’ defense crushed the high-power offense of the Maple Leafs.
What is even more surprising is the fact that it was the Bruins that had a dominant office performance. One player who had an unexpectedly explosive performance was Ford Jake DeBrusk. DeBrusk was a player who did not have a solid regular season as he accounted for 40 total points during the regular season. In the first game against the Maple Leafs, however, he accounted for two goals and one assist.
It is going to be hard for him to replicate that kind of performance now that the Maple Leafs are aware of his talent and potential. He doesn't need to have that explosive performance again. There is not a lot of expectations that he can account for a goal or an assist in game two. Boston will look for him to have another standout game and develop into an even better player.
If there is a chance for him to develop in a playoff series, it would be this game. The Maple leaves rank 20th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.18).
Bet on Jake DeBrusk at DraftKings
One of the most anticipated Western Conference playoff series will start tonight as the Los Angeles Kings. The Pacific Divisional rivalry has reached four epic games as it now transcends into the postseason.
There are a lot of keys to watch out for in this game one, but the biggest is the impact that Oilers Star center Connor McDavid will play part of. In the four games played the season against the Kings, McDavid has a counter for seven total points with five being assists.
He also finished the month of April strong as he accounted for seven points in the last six games.
McDavid has shown to play great against the high-caliber defense of the Kings throughout the regular season. The Kings are ranked fourth in the league in goals allowed per game (2.59). He should have another solid set of performances in this series.
