The first game of the night is also the game with the closest odds as the Montreal Canadiens (9-10-2) go on the road to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets (7-12-3). This game will be the second matchup this season between the two Eastern Conference teams.
The Canadiens defeated the Blue Jackets 4-3 at home in overtime on October 26. Montreal overcame a two-goal deficit twice in the matchup. Canadiens center forward Cole Caufield and center Nick Suzuki each accounted for a goal and two assists.
Montreal has performed well offensively through the majority of the season, but their defensive intensity has been inconsistent. The Canadiens felt they had a chance to be a serious threat after defeating the Boston Bruins 3-2 in overtime on November 11. Montreal, however, went on to lose five of the last seven games.
The Blue Jackets took a big chance to acquire some expensive, but talented players, but the production this season hasn't matched the potential. After starting the season with an overall record of 4-4-2, the Blue Jackets would go on to lose nine consecutive games. Columbus has won three of their last four games, including a 5-2 shocking home win over Boston.
The Blue Jackets are coming into this game with the momentum of a good winning streak, more efficiency on both sides of the ice and the home court advantage.

The nationally televised game of the night features two teams who could represent the Eastern Conference in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Detroit Red Wings (11-6-3) go on the road to take on the New York Rangers (15-4-1). This game will be the second time that the two teams meet on the ice this season.
The Red Wings made some serious noise on Tuesday by signing nine-time All-Star forward Patrick Kane to a contract for the rest of the season. Detroit now has a future Hall of Fame on a talented and championship-hungry roster. Kane will not be ready to face his former team on Wednesday.
The Red Wings are on a three-game win streak with solid wins over the New Jersey Devils, at the Boston Bruins, and over the Minnesota Wild. Detroit has outscored its opponents 13-3 in the last three games.
The Rangers are coming off a disappointing 5-1 home loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Before the loss to Buffalo, New York was on a three-game winning streak with its most impressive win being a 7-4 score at home over the Boston Bruins.
The Red Wings are coming into this game with an explosive offense that ranks fourth in the league in goals per game (3.7). Center Dylan Larkin and forward Alex DeBrincat have accumulated 20 points for the Red Wings.
The Rangers possess one of the most elite defenses in the league. They allow an average of 2.45 goals per game, third best in the league.
The Red Wings have established a more consistent presence on the ice within the past few games. They are only going to get better as Kane gets into the lineup. The Rangers, however, haven’t lost consecutive games this season.

The final game of Wednesday night is set to be a late matchup as the Washington Capitals (10-6-2) go on the road to take on the Los Angeles Kings (13-3-3). This matchup should be one of the easiest games for betters to make as the Capitals are on a serious slump while the Kings are on a great winning streak.
Washington had gotten themselves to above .500% in early November after an incredibly rough start to the season. The Capitals had won five consecutive games, including a huge 3-0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights. That winning streak was shed this past Friday as Washington lost to the Edmonton Oilers at home 5-0. Instead of rebounding from that tough loss, Washington would encounter an even worse loss as they went to lose at the San Jose Sharks, the worst team in the NHL, with a 2-1 score.
The Kings find themselves in 3rd place of an incredibly tough Pacific division behind Vegas and Vancouver, but the Kings are just as dominant as the other teams. The Kings showed their toughness by winning all four huge road games in early November. After a two-game losing streak, Los Angeles would go on to win five consecutive games with its latest being a 4-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens this past Saturday.
Los Angeles has shown its efficiency on both sides of the ice since the start of the season. Within the last five games, the Kings have outscored their opponents 20-5.
