Best NHL Bets Today November 6

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

  • Time: 7:00 PM E.T. - Monday

  • Moneyline: Lightning (+130) | Maple Leafs (-155)

  • Puck Line: Lightning +1.5 (-192) | Maple Leafs -1.5 (+160)

  • Total: Over 6.5 (-130) | Under 6.5 (+110)

My Pick: Tampa Bay Lightning (TB)

Tipping off the first game of the night in Monday's slate of NHL games is the highly anticipated game between the Tampa Bay Lightning (5-3-3) visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs (5-4-2). This is a game that bettors should go into with caution as the Maple Leafs looked to be big favorites, but the Lightning have the talent to easily take over the game.

The Lightning have recently lost two tough consecutive games to the Seattle Kraken and at the Columbus Blue Jackets. They were able to rebound with the big 6-4 win at the Ottawa Senators thanks to four points from center Braden Point, with three of them being goals.

The Maple Leafs, while possessing solid offensive talent, have been unreliable on the defensive side of the ice. Toronto has lost four consecutive games with their last game being a 6-4 loss at home to the Buffalo Sabres. In that game, center Auston Matthews accounted for a hat trick.

This game on Monday night will be a rematch from the Maple Leafs' 4-3 overtime win over the Lightning on the road on October 21st. The Lightning jumped to a 3-1 lead in the first period, but the Maple Leafs took the game into overtime with two goals in the third period. Right-wing Nitika Kuckerov scored two goals in the first period on power plays.

Matthews and right-wing Mithcell Marner have been the scorers for the Maple Leafs, with the previous points leader in right-wing William Nylander helping set up shots with two goals. The Lightning have had six players score goals in their last two goals as they are passing the puck efficiently. The Lightning are far more reliable than the Maple Leafs currently.

Boston Bruins vs. Dallas Stars

  • Time: 8:00 PM E.T. - Monday

  • Moneyline: Bruins (+110) | Stars (-130)

  • Puck Line: Bruins +1.5 (-238) | Stars -1.5 (+195)

  • Total: Over 5.5 (-110) | Under 5.5 (-110)

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

My Pick: Boston Bruins (BOS)

For the NHL fans who love a defensive battle from start to finish, look no further than the biggest game of the night between the Boston Bruins (9-1-1) visiting the Dallas Stars (7-2-1). This game is going to have one of the lowest over/under goal lines in a long time. The Bruins are coming into this game with one of the top-ranked scoring defenses in the league as they allow only 1.91 goals per game. The Stars are ranked fifth in the league in goals in allowed per game with 2.5.

Boston started their first six games undefeated until they lost at home to the Anaheim Ducks with a 4-3 score. They went on to win three more consecutive games until the Bruins lost their most recent game on the road to the Detroit Red Wings 5-4. The Bruins gave up the most goals in a single game this season to the Red Wings, with three of them coming in the third period.

After the 4-1 loss at home to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Dallas Stars were able to win 3 consecutive games thanks to their efficiency on the offensive side of the ice. Dallas combined for 13 goals in those three games but has allowed three goals each. The Stars are coming off a disappointing 2-0 loss at the Vancouver Canucks late Saturday night.

The Bruins are currently averaging 3.18 goals per game, while the Stars are averaging 2.90 goals per game. Dallas’ offensive momentum was shed in the tough loss to the Canucks. While Dallas has the home-court advantage, the Bruins have the more reliable offense and defense.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Vancouver Canucks

  • Time: 10:00 PM E.T. - Monday

  • Moneyline: Oilers (-115) | Canucks (-105)

  • Puck Line: Oilers -1.5 (+210) | Canucks +1.5 (-258)

  • Total: Over 7 (+105) | Under 7 (-125)

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

My Pick: Vancouver Canucks (VAN)

The final game of the night is set for a big-time Pacific divisional matchup between the Edmonton Oilers (2-7-1) visiting the Vancouver Canucks (8-2-1). Despite the poor record from the Oilers, this game has the potential to give Edmonton their edge back.

The Oilers have been one of the most disappointing teams to start the 2023-2024 NHL Season. They won only one of their first seven games to start the season as center Connor McDavid was injured in the last two of the streak. The Oilers are 1-2 since the return of McDavid on the ice.

The Canucks, on the other hand, are one of the most surprising teams in the NHL after a tremendous start. After a 2-2 start to the season, the Canucks have won six of their last seven games. Their last three wins were a 5-2 home win over Nashville, a 10-1 crushing road win over San Jose, and a tremendous 2-0 statement win at home over Dallas.

Vancouver has the most explosive offense at this point in the season by ranking first in the league in goals per game (4.36). They can thank forward Elias Pettersson, who leads the league in points (20) and is second in assists (14). Forward Brock Boser is sixth in the league in goals scored (8).

The Oilers, despite having the stars on the offensive side of the ice, haven’t found their rhythm, accounting for an average of 2.7 goals per game. Defensively, Edmonton has allowed the third-most goals this season (4.10).

While there is the potential that the Oilers will establish their consistency sooner rather than later and the season, the Canucks have found their presence on the ice. Not to mention, Vancouver has beaten Edmonton twice this season.
