Kicking off tonight in the NHL is the New York series has the New Jersey Devils go on the road and take on the New York Rangers. This game has the potential to be a high-scoring matchup, but it also has some potential to be another dominating performance for the Rangers.

The Rangers have won all three games this season against the Devils as they have not been incredibly close. Offensively, both teams are efficient in scoring as the Rangers are ranked 7th in the league in goals per game (3.41). The Devils closely follow the Rangers in that same category as they ranked 10th in the league in goals per game (3.28).

The biggest difference in the game, much like it has been in the entire series, is the play on the defensive side of the ice. New Jersey possesses one of the worst defenses in the league as they allow an average of 3.39 goals per game (27th in the league). Another game tipping off around the same time as the New York series is the Atlantic divisional matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning. This game has the serious potential to be a high-scoring game due to the explosive offices and players in the league. The Lightning have the League's top scorer in Nikita Kucherov, while the Maple Leaves have the top goal scorer in Auston Matthews.

This game tonight will be the third matchup of the season as thrilling matchups have gone to overtime. Toronto has won both with both games being more than six points scored.

Toronto is coming to this game with the second-most efficient scoring offense as they are averaging 3.65 goals per game. Tampa Bay is fifth in the league in goals per game as they're averaging 3.46 goals.

While the offices of the Maple Leafs and the Lightning are elite, their defense is far beyond elite.

Toronto is allowing an average of 3.09 goals per game while Tampa Bay is allowing an average of 3.26 goals per game. This game will easily be one of the highest-scoring games of the night.
