Vikings vs Bills Predictions

POINT SPREAD: Buffalo Bills -6.0 (-110) at DraftKings

Sports bettors – be sure to tune into this exciting NFL Week 10 cross-conference battle when the NFC North’s 7-1 Minnesota Vikings take on the AFC East’s 6-2 Buffalo Bills, two divisional leaders with different reputations in the league, with the Vikings as the least feared 7-win team ever and the Bills as arguably the best team in the NFL thanks to QB Josh Allen.

The Vikings are not as good as their 7-1 record might imply, their 15th-ranked offense and 25th-ranked defense nowhere near as productive as what the Bills have been this season, their number one offense and top-4 defense fueled by playmakers like WRs Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis who are powered by QB Josh Allen’s big arm, this Bills passing attack ranked third best.

Minnesota has failed to cover the spread in each of their last four games as underdogs so we don’t expect them to do it in Week 10 against this Buffalo Bills team still reeling from their Week 9 loss to the New York Jets by a field goal, a game in which QB Josh Allen tweaked his elbow so be sure to check back before game time to make sure he can still suit up for this matchup.

The oddsmakers are expecting the score from this game to total 46 points, so now it is time for the bettor to guess if the actual total will go over or under that prediction, a fun wager, especially for casual fans who have no emotional stake in either team, just an exciting wager on whether this matchup will be a defensive battle or more of an offensive outing with a larger score.

A good idea for this Week 10 points total bet is to do some research on how both of these teams tend to score this season, with the Minnesota Vikings offense averaging 24.1 points per game and the Buffalo Bills offense averaging 27.5 points each time, that total of 51.6 well over what the oddsmakers are predicting, a warning sign that other factors may be coming into play.

For example, right now the Vikes’ defense allows opponents to score 20.1 points per game whereas the Bills’ defense allows each team it plays to score 14.8 points per game, that 34.9 total well under this bet, and given that QB Josh Allen (elbow) is listed as questionable and that each of Buffalo’s last six games have gone under the total points line, we take the under bet.

There is little doubt that on paper, the Buffalo Bills are a better football team than the Minnesota Vikings given that they score more, defend better, and have a higher-ranked QB under center with Josh Allen the top-4 at his position and Kirk Cousins ranked 13th among his peers, but that does not mean that Buffalo is guaranteed to win outright.

Keep in mind that Buffalo is playing at home and the Bills have won each of their last seven games at Highmark Stadium, so bettors who are sure that they will do that again on Sunday should bet $267 on the money line which pays out $100 plus the bet if Buffalo wins, or Vikings fans who predict an upset can bet $100 and if that comes true they win $215 back plus their bet.

Many factors can push this game either way, with injuries a major consideration here, so check back before game time to see who is actually suiting up – for example, the Bills have a half dozen players listed as questionable including QB Allen and OT Spencer Brown (ankle), whereas the Vikings only have three coach’s decisions including DT Dalvin Tomlinson (calf).
