Thursday Night Football Week 7 SGP: Saints Hope to Stop Their Skid in Prime Time

  • Derek Carr, Chris Olave, and Rashid Shaheed are not expected to play

  • The Saints may be missing two offensive linemen

  • Jonathon Cooper leads the Broncos with 4.5 sacks

While this week’s edition of Thursday Night Football may not have the most talented teams, it does feature two that will be desperate for a win. On one side will be the visiting Denver Broncos, who are coming off a tough AFC West home loss to the Chargers. On the other are the New Orleans Saints, who are riding a four-game losing streak.

If you want to bet on this week’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the 49ers and Seahawks, you have come to the right place. Below, we’ll share our favorite Same Game Parlay for this matchup. We’ll use odds from Caesars Sportsbook, which gives new users a $1,000 First Bet Offer OR $250 in Bonus Bets when they sign up using promo code WSN1000.

Broncos ML (-135) at Caesars Sportsbook

Denver will likely be without Pat Surtain II on Thursday Night Football, but New Orleans is dealing with far more critical injuries on offense. Derek Carr (oblique) still isn’t back at practice and seems unlikely to play, as are top receivers Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee). That will be a big problem against a great Broncos defense, especially with Alvin Kamara beginning to struggle.

The Broncos offense will be challenged on Thursday, but the defense is good enough to shut down an injured Saints’ offense. Denver ranks fourth in yards and points allowed this season, making them one of the best defensive teams in the league.

The Saints' defense was great over the first two weeks but has been far worse since. That includes last week when they allowed the Bucs to score 51 points and gain 594 yards. Denver’s offense is nowhere near the level of the Bucs, but they won’t need to do too much to support their defense for a win.

Alvin Kamara Over 32.5 Receiving Yards (-135) at Caesars Sportsbook

Alvin Kamara has been struggling on the ground over the last two weeks but remains an active part of the Saints’ passing game. We expect that to be the case again on Thursday, considering New Orleans will be without their starting quarterback and likely their top two receivers.

Rookie Spencer Rattler will be starting in place of Carr once again this week. He was fantastic in the first half of last week’s loss but struggled badly after Olave and Shaheed. With both receivers likely to miss the game again, the rookie will look for Kamara as a safety net all night.

Alvin Kamara is currently listed as questionable to play in this game, but that is due to a limited practice load as the team attempts to manage the veteran back’s health.

Jonathan Cooper 1+ Sacks (+103) at Caesars Sportsbook

We are witnessing a breakout campaign from linebacker Jonathon Cooper in 2024, which will continue on Thursday Night Football. He leads the team with 4.5 sacks, putting him on pace to easily surpass his career-high total of 8.5.

We have talked a lot about the injuries to the Saints’ offensive playmakers, but the line is also banged up. Center Lucas Patrick and guard Cesar Ruiz are both questionable to play and trending toward sitting on Thursday. Combine that with a rookie QB, and you get a recipe for a Cooper sack.
