The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a terrible loss against the lowly Carolina Panthers, and this week they host the red-hot San Francisco 49ers.
In this NFC West battle, do the 49ers continue their run with quarterback Brock Purdy or do the Seahawks and Geno Smith get back on track?

The 49ers may be down to rookie quarterback and Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy. Still, they’re playing light outs football right now, especially coming from a dominant win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Traveling on the road, they’re more than a three-point favorite, which says a lot about them, considering they’re playing the Seahawks, who’ve had great quarterback play out of Geno Smith all year.
However, the Seahawks will have several issues in this game. While their offensive line has been OK enough to get by, they’ll have to contend with Nick Bosa and Samson Ebukam off the edge, which will be no easy task. Also, all three of their linebackers, Dre Greenlaw, Fred Warner, and Azeez Al-Shaair, are great at rushing the passer and in coverage.
The Seahawks have two great weapons on the outside in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. However, 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward has played excellent football this year, and that pass rush will prevent some of those bigger plays from developing.
In run defense, the 49ers allow 75.1 rushing yards per game, the lowest in the league.
There are too many mountains to climb in this one for the Seahawks against a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the 49ers.

When looking into this game, it’s easy to spot the holes with the Seahawks. While we think this will ultimately lead to their demise, we should also keep in mind that on a short week against a division opponent with one weaker cornerback opposite Ward, there are scenarios where the home team, the Seahawks, do score.
As for the 49ers, their offense is firing on all cylinders. Purdy played well in his debut start. Having a weapon like running back Christian McCaffrey to lean on will help him grow even more comfortable as the season rolls along.
We think the 49ers will win this one, 24-20.
