Lil Wayne thought he would’ve been chosen to do the halftime show. Wayne has mentioned Lamar publicly, and everything seems rather cordial. 

Lamar used Wayne’s name in the lyrics of “Wacced Out Murals,” saying, “I used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.”

Wayne spoke with Skip Bayless, telling the former FOX Sports and ESPN host he’d be out of the country during the Super Bowl.

His fourth, “Not Like Us,” was played during Lamar's acceptance of the “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year” awards at the GRAMMYs.

In that song, Lamar had some serious insinuations about Drake that we won't get into here.

As mentioned, Lamar has released four diss tracks about Drake. The prop specifically mentions tracks “Not Like Us,” “Euphoria,” “6:16 in LA,” and “Meet the Grahams.” 

Not Like Us is arguably his most popular song this year, securing multiple GRAMMY awards. 

Euphoria has a run time of 6:23, so unless it was significantly whittled down, it’s hard to imagine dedicating that amount of time to a Super Bowl halftime show. 

As for 6:16 in LA, he played it live on June 19, 2024. It’s the only time he’s played it. The song was shortened, and Ab-Soul was part of the performance.
