Sunday Night Football Prop Bets Week 17: Falcons Fighting for Playoff Berth

  • The Buccaneers are currently -135 to win the NFC South, just ahead of Atlanta

  • The Falcons control their playoff destiny

  • Michael Penix Jr. will make his second career start against Jayden Daniels

The Atlanta Falcons control their playoff destiny. If they can win the next two games, they will head to the playoffs as the fourth seed and host a game in Atlanta.

While they control their playoff destiny, they’re still a slight underdog to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South. Tampa Bay finishes with the Panthers and Saints, while the Falcons have to go through the Commanders.

If Atlanta loses to Washington, their playoff chances become nonexistent unless Tampa Bay loses another game. Even though the NFC South storyline is floating over this game, we also will see Michael Penix and Jayden Daniels battle in prime time.

These quarterbacks have very bright futures, and we’re targeting props surrounding both players. We have bet three props for Sunday Night Football.

New customers on FanDuel Sportsbook can get $250 in bonus bets if their first $5 wager wins on the app. This is a great way to rack up bonuses for the upcoming NFL and college football playoffs.

Bijan Robinson Anytime Touchdown (-150) at FanDuel

Bijan Robinson has been one of the most critical pieces for the Falcons offense this season. Robinson has been fantastic in all areas of the game.

He excels at catching the ball out of the backfield and pounding the rock, which gives him extra chances to score. Atlanta is still easing their rookie quarterback, Michael Penix Jr., into games, so we anticipate a heavy dose of Robinson early in the contest.

Robinson carried the ball 22 times for 94 yards with two touchdowns last week. Robinson had a more significant workload than usual, and we expect it to be even heavier against a competitive team.

When the Falcons get around the goal line, they don’t want to risk any mistakes with Penix Jr. This means Robinson will receive the carries and find a way to score.

If the -150 odds are too low, add Robinson into a parlay. This is our favorite prop for the NFC South star.

Jayden Daniels Over 227.5 Passing Yards (-110) at FanDuel

Jayden Daniels has been the best rookie quarterback this season. He is positioned to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, as he has led his team throughout the season.

Daniels is 14th in passing yards with 3,303 yards, and he has thrown 22 touchdowns. His QBR is 71.8, which is fourth in the NFL.

The Falcons defense was tremendous last week, but don’t get it twisted. Atlanta has one of the worst secondaries in the NFL, and they have surrendered massive passing yards to their opponents.

Daniels has the talent to tear up his opponent, and we see him sailing over 227.5 passing yards on Sunday.

Michael Penix Jr. Under 1.5 Touchdowns (-165) at FanDuel

Penix Jr. threw for 240 yards in his last start with one interception. The quarterback has a bright future but needs a lot more work.

This is a tough spot for the rookie, as the Falcons must win to stay alive in the playoff race. He made his first start against the Giants and now has to transition to face a loaded Commanders defense.

Dan Quinn is one of the NFL’s great defensive minds, and he should have scheme input to shut down the rookie. If Penix Jr. didn’t throw one touchdown last week, it would be hard for him to throw two against Washington.
