Saints vs. Buccaneers Predictions

The Saints enter tonight’s game looking to snap a three-game losing streak. After a red-hot start, they have been held to under 14 points in two of their previous three games. While they kept each loss close for most of the game, they continued to come up short. They will likely be without starting quarterback Derek Carr, which will be a significant blow to the struggling unit.

Fortunately for the Saints, the Bucs have one of the worst defenses in the league. Free safety Antoine Winfield Jr. has been out since Week 1 and is questionable to return for this game. That is terrible news, as strong safety Jordan Whitehead is also listed as questionable. Tampa is allowing the league's fifth-most passing yards per game, meaning backup quarterback Spencer Rattler will be set up well for success in his first NFL start.

As bad as the Bucs are on defense, their offense has been far better. They have scored at least 30 points three times this season, led by an impressive start from Baker Mayfield. He is fully locked in with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans.

Tampa has also seen their run game begin to thrive, thanks partly to rookie Bucky Irving, splitting carries with the dangerous Rachaad White. The team has been using the duo well all season, leading to impressive offensive output this season.

While the Saints allow less than 20 points per game, they allow the twenty-third most yards in the league.

Saints vs. Buccaneers Pick

We know how good both offenses can be, but the defenses are struggling. With the Bucs possibly missing both starting safeties and the Saints allowing far too many yards, we expect a thrilling matchup that will steal the show on Sunday.

Saints vs. Buccaneers Best Prop Bets

Alvin Kamara Anytime TD (-140) at Caesars Sportsbook

The price isn’t great, but it is still well worth a wager. While the veteran running back is dealing with a hip injury and coming off his worst game, he still has a team-high six touchdowns over the first five games. Considering his ability to do damage through the air and on the ground, he is one of the league's safest anytime TD scorer bets.

With Derek Carr out, expect Haener to lean heavily on Kamara.

Baker Mayfield Over 1.5 Passing TD (-103) at Caesars Sportsbook

The former Browns’ quarterback has been incredible for the Bucs again this season. He is tenth in the league in yards and second in passing touchdowns. He has thrown for at least two in two consecutive games and will do so again on Sunday.

The Saints’ defense has been solid against the run but struggles badly against the pass. They rank in the bottom ten in passing yards. The unit has only allowed one passing touchdown, but that will change with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin coming to town.

Saints Punt on First Drive (+100) at Caesars Sportsbook

We think Spencer Rattler will do some damage on Sunday, but it won’t happen on the first drive. Even with the Bucs’ banged-up secondary, he will debut with an offense that has not been playing well. Expect a short and sweet drive to open the game, but don’t be surprised if Rattler breathes some life into this stagnant unit.
