Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has 12 touchdowns and one pick over his last four games
The Texans are without wide receiver Tank Dell, who suffered a season-ending injury to his knee in Week 16
The Ravens defense has surrendered 218 or fewer passing yards in each game from Week 11 on
The 9-6 Houston Texans will host the 10-5 Baltimore Ravens in Week 17 of the NFL season on Christmas Day. These games will be viewed on Netflix. The Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers are both 10-5, but the Steelers hold the tiebreaker for the lead in the division. Meanwhile, the Texans have clinched the AFC South.

It’s hard to pick against the Ravens, especially quarterback Lamar Jackson, right now. He has 12 touchdowns and one interception over his last four games, and in that same time span, he has two games with 65 rushing yards or more.
The Texans allow nearly two passing touchdowns per game.
The Ravens pass defense has been quite stellar over the last five games, allowing 218 passing yards or less in each of them and only one game with multiple passing touchdowns.
They continue to surge on the road.

These are two teams that’ll be in the playoffs this season, and rightfully so. The Texans defense has created a lot of turnovers this season, averaging 1.27 per game and recording at least one in five of their last six games. Within that six-game period, they have two games with three-plus interceptions.
This week, they’ll try to create some turnovers against Jackson, who simply doesn’t turn the ball over. He has four interceptions this year, but most of them have been after a ball has ricocheted off a receiver's hand.
The Texans offense has been really up and down this season. Quarterback C.J. Stroud hasn’t quite had the follow-up to 2023 that you’d like to see. He has 3,492 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 11 picks. He had just five picks all of last season.
There have been some injuries on the Texans this season at the wide receiver position, including, most recently, Tank Dell, who’s now out with a dislocated knee cap.
This injury visibly upset the team. It occurred after a 30-yard touchdown strike from Stroud to Dell. Dell caught the touchdown, and after the injury, Stroud was seen crying on the sideline after realizing how bad the injury was.
Now, he’s down to Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz, Robert Woods, and Xavier Hutchinson as the main receivers.
This all comes as the Ravens pass defense, viewed as the worst in the league, has had a bit of a resurgence. A big part of it has been moving Kyle Hamilton to deep safety—it’s hard for opponents to get off deep passes against a 6-foot-4 guy manning the deep parts of the field.
From Week 11 on, the Ravens have allowed 218 or fewer passing yards in every game and have only surrendered multiple passing touchdowns once. In that same stretch, they have three interceptions.
The Ravens offense and defense are clicking, while the Texans have been wishy-washy offensively. They are without one of their top receivers, and their defense is facing one of the best signal callers in the league who simply doesn’t turn the ball over.
Look for the Ravens to win and cover on the road.
The Texans are allowing nearly two passing touchdowns per game. Of the 15 games played this season, they’ve allowed two or more in nine of them.
As mentioned, Jackson has been sensational lately. He has two or more passing touchdowns in 10 of his last 12 games.
The Texans have been pretty solid this season against the run, so I expect Jackson to continue his passing dominance as usual here, especially when he is removed from the outdoor elements.

Henry had a rough patch for a player of his caliber, rushing for 82 yards or less in four of his last five games before Week 16.
However, he had 162 yards in Week 16 on 24 carries. The Texans are only allowing 82 rushing yards per game to the running back position, but if you look at their recent opponents, none are quite at the caliber of Henry.
From Week 11 on, they’ve faced the Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, and Kansas City Chiefs. All of these teams rank 21st or worse in rushing yards per game, with the only exception being the Chiefs, who are 15th.
The threat of Jackson running will continue to open things up for Henry, and he’ll run strong as the regular season comes to a close.

The Texans offense is fairly depleted of receiver talent. Stefon Diggs suffered an injury earlier this season, and the same can now be said for Dell.
Over his last four games, Collins has 36 targets, 24 receptions, and three touchdowns. He also has two games with 92 yards receiving or more.
He’ll face plenty of Brandon Stephens in this game. This season, he’s allowed 56 catches on 82 targets (68.3%) for 712 yards and three touchdowns.
Collins should be able to do some damage here, including a touchdown.
