The following odds are taken from Caesars Sportsbook.
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Las Vegas Raiders | +9.0 (-110) | +335 | Over 41.5 (-110) |
Baltimore Ravens | -9.0 (-110) | -440 | Under 41.5 (-110) |
The Ravens' defense is far better than their numbers against the Chiefs indicate. They struggled against the pass, but were up against the top quarterback in the league. The Ravens completely shut down the run game, which will be bad news for a weak Raiders run game. Unlike the Chiefs, the Raiders won’t have an elite pass game to fall back on.
Speaking of the Raiders, they were one of the most disappointing teams in Week 1. Despite a solid game from Gardner Minshew, the offense only managed ten points. The run game was a mess, with Zamir White and Alexander Mattison combining for just 63 yards on the ground.
On top of their defensive advantage, the Ravens are all set up to thrive on the ground. The Raiders were gashed by JK Dobbins and the Chargers for 176 yards last week, allowing them to average a whopping 6.5 YPC. Now, they’ll face a better backfield with one of the greatest rushing quarterbacks in history.

We expect the Ravens to put up a lot of points after last week’s disappointing loss. Their offense was incredible against a far superior Chiefs defense last week, and they will be even better at home on Sunday. That will lead to them scoring a lot of points quickly, leading to another impressive total.
The Raiders offense will struggle, but they will be down big. That could allow them to move the ball against a relaxed Ravens defense, leading to enough points to cover this low total easily.

The Raiders have many weaknesses that were exposed by the Chargers in Week 1. While their passing game was decent, they had no luck running against the LA front. The Ravens are stronger than the Chargers against the pass and run, and this will lead to another disappointing performance tonight.
The Raiders just don’t have the tools to stop Lamar Jackson. While Maxx Crosby will be able to put some pressure on the former NFL MVP, he won’t help stop him on the ground, which is where Las Vegas is weakest. That will force them to bring in help to stop the run, opening things up for an impressive Baltimore passing attack.
Look for the Raiders to be overwhelmed early in this game, only managing to generate offense once the game is out of hand. The long trip to face a far better team is a recipe for a blowout, which is precisely what will happen on Sunday.
The Ravens came within an inch of forcing overtime against the Chiefs in Week 1, and they will be looking for a statement win on Sunday. Lamar Jackson was especially impressive, passing for 273 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 122 yards on seven carries. That was against an excellent Kansas City defense, which has us expecting even better numbers against a weaker Raiders unit.
We have discussed Baltimore’s advantage on the ground, but this receiving corps is doing big things this weekend. Isaiah Likely, Rashod Bateman, and Zay Flowers are an exciting trio of young pass catchers who showed it against the Chiefs. We expect Flowers to do the most damage, given his workload against the Chiefs. The second-year receiver showed his talent last week, which will translate to massive numbers on Sunday.
The Ravens' defense is also in for a big game at home in Week 2. They will face an underwhelming Raiders offense with a shaky offensive line, and the front seven will feast. That will put Minshew under pressure for most of the game, leading to many three-and-out drives.
