Week 1 begins with Ravens vs. Chiefs on Thursday
Joe Mixon will make his debut for the Texans against the Colts
Patriots vs. Bengals has a lot of high-value props
Week 1 of the 20224 NFL season has arrived. It was a long offseason, but we’ve finally made it to meaningful football. The action begins with the Ravens and Chiefs on Thursday night. Kansas City is the current Super Bowl favorite at +550 on bet365.
The next standalone kickoff game is on Friday in Brazil when the Eagles face the Packers. Both primetime games have good betting value, but Sunday is when we have a full slate to pick our props.
We’ve targeted a few games, including Texans vs. Colts on bet365 Sportsbook. As a special offer, bet365 offers new users a $1,000 safety net bet or $200 in bonus bets. Claim this offer with our promo code WSN365 and by following our exclusive link.
Joe Mixon is coming off a tremendous season for the Bengals. He helped the team stay afloat despite not having Joe Burrow for most of the season. In the offseason, Mixon was traded to the Texans for a 2024 seventh-round pick and was extended for three years.
Houston took the NFL by storm and won the AFC North in CJ Stroud’s first season, but they lacked a run game. Mixon should help the cause, and we believe the Texans will lean on their new asset very early on Sunday.
Mixon ran for 1034 yards on 257 carries last season. He was in the top ten in both these categories despite consistently facing a loaded box.
The matchup is great for Houston if they’re trying to run the ball. According to the Cold, Hard Football Facts, the Colts return the 27th-ranked Defensive Rusher Rating unit in the NFL.
They also allowed the 22nd most yards in the NFL last season, so Mixon is positioned for a massive day. Last season, he carried the ball 21 times for 79 yards in a 34-14 win against the Colts.

The New England Patriots have a tough matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Patriots are a 9.5-point road underdog, the most significant spread by three points in the opener.
The majority of the bets and money are rolling in on the Bengals. Cincinnati is in a great position to win the AFC North this season if Joe Burrow can stay healthy. The Bengals lost Mixon in the offseason, so there will likely be a massive focus on the passing game.
We’re staying away from Burrow’s passing yardage total because Cincinnati probably won’t have to throw much to win. On the other hand, the Patriots will be playing from behind based on the 9.5-point spread.
New England named Jacoby Brissett the starter over Drake Maye. Brissett has all the experience needed to surpass 204.5 passing yards against the Bengals. Cincinnati was 24th in Defensive Passer Rating and 21st in Defensive Real Quarterback Rating.
Brissett’s total is low enough that he should go over if New England wants to be competitive.

Aaron Jones comes to the Vikings from the Packers. Jones is one of the most talented running backs in the NFL, and he is in for a big season playing on turf in Minnesota.
Jones and the Vikings open with the New York Giants in the Meadowlands. The Giants had a solid preseason, outside of the fact they didn’t score a passing touchdown.
The Giants' offense will struggle, and their defense won’t improve in 2024. New York is returning one of the worst defenses in the NFL.
The Giants were the 31st-ranked team in the Quality Stats Power Rankings. They were solid through the air but terrible against the run.
According to Cold, Hard Football Facts, New York was 30th in Defensive Rusher Rating and 30th in Total Team Yards Allowed. They were 21st in Benadbility, meaning they frequently gave up explosive plays.
Look for the Vikings to ease quarterback Sam Darnold into the game and limit the passing game. This should give Jones plenty of chances to exceed his rushing total.
