Pick: Broncos ML (+115) at DraftKings
Live from London, we have the Jaguars—a team used to playing in London—taking on the Broncos.
It sounds like quarterback Russell Wilson is ready to go after his four-hour plane workout. Regardless of who the quarterback is, this is a spot for the Broncos to finally get a win and “improve” to 3-5.
The Broncos’ defense is way too talented not to put the offense in a position to beat up on a Jaguars defense that allows nearly 240 passing yards and over 110 rushing yards per game.
As we saw last week, the Broncos leaned more on the run game and gave up 100 yards to Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley.
Latavius Murray and Melvin Gordon are no Barkley. Still, between the success of their rushing attack and the Broncos’ defense holding down the Jaguars’ offense, the Broncos should squeak this one out.
As an alternative, taking the under here isn't a bad idea.
Pick: Cowboys -9.5 (-110) at DraftKings
After scoring nearly on the road against the New England Patriots, the Chicago Bears are again on the road, on a short week, against the debilitating Cowboys defense.
The Bears managed to get things going against the Patriots, but that won’t happen this week against the Cowboys, who cover the pass well (185 yards per game) but will be ready to defend the run and put a spy on Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
We thought there was no way the Bears score against the Patriots. We were wrong. However, this Cowboys’ defense is a new animal and has been an issue for opposing offenses each week. Over their last four games, they’ve held three teams to 10 points or
Pick: Panthers +4 (-110) at DraftKings
While the Panthers played the game of their life last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning 21-3, they’re in a great spot to cover this four-point road spread.
The Falcons lean heavily on their run game, throwing just 13 times last week in a game that they were getting dominated in.
The Falcons rushing attack won’t be silenced here by any means. Still, the Panthers' offense opened up in the passing game last week without running back Christian McCaffrey, which lines up well against a Falcons defense that allows about 307 per game.
Panthers quarterback P.J. Walker is far from an NFL passing leader. However, he still has D.J. Moore to hyper-target downfield and a two-headed backfield that can still succeed.
We’ll take the Panthers at four points here as they have a chance to win another one.
