The Buccaneers are certainly dealing with several notable injuries, mainly to Evans and Godwin, but this team showed in Week 8 that they can still find ways to put a solid offense out on the field. This season, the Buccaneers rank fourth in scoring, averaging over 29 points per game. 

Putting up 26 points last week, they relied on tight end Cade Otton. Mayfield passed for over 300 yards and three touchdowns. He’s thrown for 325 yards or more in three straight games. He’s thrown multiple touchdowns in five straight games and six of eight this season. 

Mayfield has completed 71.1% of his passes for 2,189 yards, 21 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He’s ascended to a level this season where he’s in a category of a quarterback that’ll elevate the team around him. 

The Chiefs are 7-0 this season, yes, but this comes while Mahomes has thrown more interceptions (nine) than touchdowns (eight), and the Chiefs have won five games by a touchdown or less. 

I think the Chiefs win this game, but the Buccaneers, thanks to Mayfield, keep it under nine points.

Through eight games this season, Mayfield is averaging 3.63 rush attempts for 21.13 yards per game. Over the last four games, he’s had 16 rushing yards or more in three of them. Overall, he’s had 16 rushing yards or more in five of eight games. 

This season, the Chiefs have allowed 16 rushing yards to the opposing quarterback only twice. One of those games came in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers.

He's thrown seven interceptions over the last three weeks, throwing at least two in each game. Before this streak, he had just two interceptions through five games. 

The Chiefs failed to get a pick in Week 8, but before that, the defense intercepted five passes between Weeks 3 and 7, including three in Week 7. 

The Buccaneers will trail during this game, forcing Mayfield to throw more, and I think he’ll throw at least one.

As mentioned above, it’s been a rough season for Mahomes so far. He has eight touchdown passes this season through seven games, averaging just over one per game. However, he has thrown two touchdowns in three games this season. 

Also, as mentioned, the Buccaneers are allowing numerous passing touchdowns lately, including four in Week 8 against the Falcons and five in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens. 

In addition to these games, the Buccaneers have allowed two passing touchdowns or more in just one other game, which was also against the Falcons. 

Hopkins is in his second game with the team, which should make passing the ball easier for Mahomes. 

Given the Buccaneers recent defensive efforts, I think Mahomes throws double-digit touchdowns here at home and could have the best game of this season.
