Chris Godwin and Mike Evans will both be out on Monday
The Chiefs’ run defense ranks second in yards per game, touchdowns, and YPC average
Cade Otton has had at least eight catches and ten targets in two straight games.
Week 9’s Monday Night Football matchup features two teams with very different goals. The Kansas City Chiefs enter with a new receiver and hope to remain the only unbeaten team in the league. Conversely, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter this game looking to save their season after losing three of their previous four games.
If you want to wager on this week’s edition of Monday Night Football, we have you covered. Below, we’ll share our favorite bets for this matchup, helping you win your wagers on Monday night. We’ll use odds from Caesars Sportsbook, which gives new users a $1,000 First Bet Offer OR $250 in Bonus Bets when they sign up using promo code WSN1000.
This is a big spread, but we are willing to give up the points for this Monday Night Football matchup. That is primarily due to this incredible Kansas City defense, which ranks among the top five of the league in both yards and points allowed per game this season.
Kansas City’s defense does have some issues defending the pass, but the Bucs will be without Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Tampa has been able to help overcome the loss with their surprisingly effective run game, but they will run into a brick wall against an elite Chiefs front seven on Monday.
On the other side of the ball, the Bucs’ defense will have its hands full. The secondary desperately needs help, which is terrible news as Patrick Mahomes and DeAndre Hopkins continue to gel. The addition of the veteran receiver is going to do a lot for this offense, helping lead the Chiefs to its eighth win of the season.

Speaking of the Chiefs’ run defense, they rank second in yards per game (82.3), touchdowns (4), and YPC average (3.5).
As well as Bucky Irving has run this season, we saw the rookie get completely shut down against a similarly great Ravens run defense two weeks ago. The back managed just 23 yards on nine carries, leading to Tampa using him more in the passing game.
Given that the Chiefs will score many points quickly on Monday, expect Irving to play a far more prominent role in the passing game.

Otton has the second-most receptions on the team at 36, the fourth-highest total among all tight ends. That number is going to skyrocket with Godwin and Evans out. Otton has at least eight catches and ten targets in two consecutive games.
Given that Mayfield will be looking for options against a vulnerable pass defense, we expect Otton to go for at least eight catches for the third straight game this week.
