  • Atlanta lost 18-10 to the Steelers in Week 1

  • Bijan Robinson rushed for 68 yards in Week 1

  • Saquon Barkley had 109 yards and three touchdowns against the Packers

We have a battle of the birds on this week’s edition of Monday Night Football. The Atlanta Falcons will be heading north to take on the Philadelphia Eagles, who are looking to bounce back from a disappointing Week 1 performance.

If you want to bet on this Monday Night Football matchup, we have you covered. Below, we’ll share our favorite bets for the game, giving you everything you need to bet confidently. NFL MNF Picks Week 2

Eagles -6.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

We really like what we saw from the Eagles in Sao Paulo. The defense still has some concerns, but their offensive play down the stretch was phenomenal. Jalen Hurts connected with his elite receiving corps at will, carving up a good Packers pass defense with ease.

We really did NOT like what we saw from the Falcons. The addition of Kirk Cousins was supposed to make this team a contender, but they looked far from it in their 18-10 loss to the Steelers. The defense did a solid job, but they will face a far better opponent in the Eagles this week.

We expect the Atlanta offense to sputter once again, leading to their defense spending too much time on the field against a great Eagles unit that now includes Saquon Barkley. The former Giants’ star was incredible in Week 1, rushing for 109 yards and scoring three combined touchdowns.

Falcons Under 20.5 Points (-105) at Caesars Sportsbook

The odds show that bookmakers still believe the Falcons can be dangerous, but we aren’t sold. The Steelers have a very good defense, but the Atlanta offense looked completely lost. Cousins struggled to connect with his young and talented playmakers. Bijan Robinson found some success on the ground, but the lack of a passing game limited the damage he could do.

The Eagles were beaten up by a good Packers offense in Week 1, but we don’t see that as an indication of where they really stand. That game was played on the other side of the world in extreme humidity on a field that did not hold up to the rigors of the NFL. They won’t face those obstacles this week, and the result will be a dominant performance from this Philly defense.

Falcons Punt on First Drive (-135) at Caesars Sportsbook

The price isn’t great on this one, but it feels like the safest bet of the day. As we have mentioned, the Atlanta offense is coming off an ugly game. They didn’t look anywhere close to the unit we expected, and it will take time for Cousins and Atlanta’s playmakers to adjust to one another.

Unfortunately for the Falcons, they will face a very aggressive Eagles defense tonight. Thanks to their ability to shut down opposing run attacks, the Eagles will take advantage of the unsteady Atlanta offense. That will take Bijan Robinson out of the game, putting too much pressure on the still-developing pass game.

Remember to also factor in the location of this game, which will be in Philadelphia. The Eagles stadium is considered one of the toughest places to play in all of sports, which is bad news for an offense trying to find its way. I’m not saying the Falcons won’t have some success, but it won’t come on the first drive.
