The Las Vegas Raiders are expecting Jimmy Garoppolo to return to the lineup when they head to the Motor City for a Monday Night Football matchup with the Detroit Lions.
Just when it looked as if the Lions could be the best team in the NFC, they were annihilated in a 38-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Raiders are also coming off a lopsided 30-12 loss at the hands of the Chicago Bears.
As both teams look to get back on track, we have put together a same-game parlay with our favorite betting picks from the primetime showdown.

David Montgomery did not practice Thursday after missing the Week 7 contest with a rib injury. Assuming he’s out, rookie Jahmyr Gibbs should be in for a large workload just like he was last week when he racked up 126 yards and a touchdown as one of the few bright spots in the loss to the Ravens. The Raiders are 22nd in scoring defense (23 points allowed per game) and will struggle to match the speed of the first-round pick.
Adams only has three touchdowns on the year but is a favorite target of Garoppolo. He also received 12 targets last week after voicing his frustration over a lessened role in the offense and is the most likely player to have a moment of individual brilliance against the Lions’ secondary. The Lions are 24th in passing TDs allowed per game (1.6), and Adams is a strong play.
LaPorta has been a money-maker in player prop betting in his rookie season. He’s caught at least 25 yards of passes in all seven games and is coming off a six-catch, 52-yard performance a week ago, Jared Goff struggled against the Ravens but is still Pro Football Focus’ top-graded quarterback and is even better at home, so LaPorta should have no problems getting his hands on the ball.
Detroit is flat-out better than Vegas. They’re 5-2 to the Raiders 4-3, plus they’re still 15 spots ahead of them in average scoring differential (+3.3 to -7) despite the huge loss a week ago. The defense is much improved from a year ago, and the offense is one of the five best in the entire league.
The under has hit in a whopping 61.3% of all games this NFL season. The regular total is 46.5, but an alternate line of 51.5 accounts for common outcomes such as 27-24 or 31-20. We struggle to see the Raiders putting a ton of points on the board here, especially with Garoppolo coming back from time off and the Lions having the anger of last week’s blowout loss fresh on their minds.
