  • Detroit lost outright last week to Tampa Bay as a 7.5-point favorite

  • Arizona beat the Los Angeles Rams, 41-10

  • The Lions are currently fifth in the Super Bowl odds at +1200

The Detroit Lions will look to respond following their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2. It won’t be easy for the Lions to answer because they’re facing a Cardinals team with momentum after beating the Rams 41-10.

The Cardinals also gave the Bills, one of the AFC Tournament favorites, a battle in Week 1, so they’ll be ready for Detroit on Sunday. We have identified a game bet and prop on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Lions vs. Cardinals Pick

The Detroit Lions have been notorious for bouncing back with a vengeance after losing in the Dan Campbell era. Campbell should have his team ready to play on the road, and the spread currently has a lot of value on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Lions are favored by a field goal, and they should win by 3-7 points, so Detroit is a viable betting option. Jared Goff should have a better game than last week and lead Tampa Bay to a cover on Sunday.

Lions vs. Cardinals Predictions

The Detroit Lions must clean up their mistakes from last week against to beat the Cardinals on Sunday. The Lions were 1-7 in the red zone for touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers were barely in this part of the field, but they converted on their opportunities.

In the NFL, a touchdown is more significant than a field goal, and Detroit learned this firsthand last week. However, Campbell is an excellent coach for cleaning up his team’s mistakes, so we expect them to improve this week.

Jared Goff has to protect the football much more than last week. Goff was 34-55 last week for 307 yards with two interceptions in the Week 2 loss. Even though the Lions have a lot of speed, their success starts with Goff running the offense.

If Goff brings his best game, the Cardinal's defense should struggle. Arizona looked much better than last week against the Rams, who have been depleted by injuries. Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. have looked excellent, but Detroit’s talent should take them over the top on Sunday.

Lions vs. Cardinals Best Player Props

Jared Goff Over 266.5 Passing Yards (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Even though Goff didn’t have a great game against the Buccaneers, he still threw the ball consistently throughout the game. The Lions want to run the ball, but Goff is a massive piece of the winning formula, and he has many receivers who can rack up yards.

Jameson Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown were inconsistent throughout the contest, but they should have plenty of chances to create explosive gains on Sunday. If this is the case, Goff should exceed 266.5 passing yards.

Last week, he threw for 307 yards but averaged just 5.6 yards per attempt. The Cardinals rank 28th in Defensive Passer Rating from Cold, Hard Football Facts, so look for them to struggle against Goff.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 75.5 Receiving Yards (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

We believe Goff will exceed his total, and if this is the case, it starts with St. Brown. The receiver has been one of the best in football, catching passes from Goff, and he should tear up the Cardinals' secondary.

St. Brown caught 11 passes for 119 yards last week but didn’t step up in the big moments. St. Brown should be the player who gets the explosive gains started early and jump starts the Lions offense.

Kyler Murray Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. have a good connection. Harrison caught two touchdown passes last week, and Murray exceeded 1.5 touchdown passes. However, we’re taking the under on his touchdown line against the Lions.

Murray must deal with a ruthless pass rush from Aidan Hutchinson, and we don’t think he will be comfortable in the pocket.
