Last Winless NFL Team 2024 Odds: Patriots Lead Panthers, Titans

All 32 NFL teams begin every year with the goal of winning a championship, but for some, that will prove to be a short-lived dream.

In that spirit, oddsmakers have released betting lines for the last winless team left in the NFL in 2024. The New England Patriots’ fall from grace could be cemented, if the oddsmakers are correct, as they have the shortest odds to be the last team in the league to get their first win of the season.

New England Patriots (+600) at FanDuel

The Patriots are extremely, extremely young on offense. 21-year-old quarterback and third-overall pick Drake Maye will throw to two rookie wideouts while sitting behind an offensive line that was one of the worst in the NFL when last seen. Plus, Jerod Mayo is 36 with no previous head-coaching experience and is attempting to replace Bill Belichick.

Carolina Panthers (+800) at FanDuel

The Panthers were the worst team in the NFL bar none in 2023. Bryce Young did not adapt to the NFL, but he will benefit from the arrival of Diontae Johnson. They’ll be underdogs in nearly every game they play but play some of the other projected worst teams in the league early in the year, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, and Denver Broncos.

Tennessee Titans (+800) at FanDuel

It’s a quarterback’s world, and the Titans probably have one of the worst in the business. That said, the Titans spent big money on players such as Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard, and L’Jarius Sneed to field a competitive roster. They have a brutal schedule to start the year and play the Patriots in Week 9 in a matchup that could decide the winner in this market.

Minnesota Vikings (+950) at FanDuel

The Vikings could have a Super Bowl offense with a top-10 quarterback—instead, they have rookie J.J. McCarthy, a reigning national champion at the University of Michigan. Minnesota will face the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Lions in the first seven weeks, and their schedule doesn’t get much easier until Week 11.

A classic case of buyer’s remorse struck the Giants, who are now depending on Daniel Jones to carry an offense sans Saquon Barkley. They face the Vikings in Week 1 and Commanders in Week 2 which gives them an out, but if they lose both, they’ll be in a struggle until they play the Commanders and Panthers in Weeks 9 and 10.

Last Winless NFL Team 2024: Upset Teams

Las Vegas Raiders (+2100) at FanDuel

The Raiders got up to play for Antonio Pierce last year but are in for a long season with Aidan O’Connell under center and after losing Josh Jacobs in the backfield. They get the Panthers in Week 3 and Broncos in Week 5 but face nothing but projected playoff teams until Week 14 aside from that.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+3000) at FanDuel

The Jaguars started last year 8-3 but capitulated down the stretch and downgraded their roster. They don’t play any of the top teams in the league but also only have one easy game, a home bout with the Patriots in Week 7, during the first 10 Weeks of their season.

My Pick: New York Giants (+1000) at FanDuel

There’s real value to betting on the Giants here. Kevin O’Connell is an excellent coach and will put McCarthy in a position to succeed in Week 1, and the Commanders seem to have more momentum than the Giants. That could put the G-Men at 0-2 with matchups against the Browns, Cowboys, Seahawks, Bengals, Eagles, and Steelers all to follow.
