Las Vegas Raiders Next Coach Odds: Who Will Replace Antonio Pierce, Get 6th Pick in the NFL Draft?

Published January 10, 2025
4 min read

The Las Vegas Raiders are back in the market for someone new to lead their program, and odds to be the Raiders' next coach show that there is one clear favorite for the position.

Former player and ex-Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel has the best odds to take over the job last held by Antonio Pierce. There have been four men either labeled as full-time or interim head coaches since the start of the 2021 season, and above all else, the team needs consistency and a vision for the future.

Here’s who the oddsmakers believe are the most likely to become the next Raiders head coach.

Top Favorites for the Las Vegas Raiders Next Coach

Mike Vrabel (+100)

Vrabel led the Tennessee Titans to an AFC Championship Game appearance in 2019 and, while he had Derrick Henry in the backfield, he was also hamstrung by quarterback Ryan Tannehill. He did a tremendous job with Tennessee’s defense and has plenty of experience not only as a Pro Bowl player, but after several stops as a coach. Above all else, Vrabel is known as a leader of men and will institute a missing culture.

Brian Flories (+250)

Things didn’t work out in Miami for Flores, so he decided to return to his roots as a defensive coordinator and wreak havoc on the entire league with the Vikings’ defense. Minnesota led the league in takeaways and was fifth in points allowed per game despite being 12th the year before and 30th the year before that. He’s a fiery, hard-headed coach who has repeatedly proven his worth as a defensive presence.

Liam Coen (+300)

Coen totally unlocked the Buccaneers’ offense once he arrived in Tampa, leading Baker Mayfield to a slew of career-highs and getting the running game going in a way it hadn’t for years. The Bucs won the NFC South and likely would have had at least 12 wins if they were healthy all year, and Coen has drawn high praise from several members of the offense. He also fits the mold of a young, offensive coach that is popular around the league.

What Happened to the Las Vegas Raiders?

The Raiders finished the 2024 regular season 4-13 and were the only team in the NFC West not to achieve double-digit wins. They face a steep uphill battle trying to get back to being competitive with the rest of their stacked division.

Many of Vegas’ biggest problems were at quarterback. Antonio Pierce alternated between Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell seemingly every week and was forced to turn to Desmond Ridder once injuries took their toll later in the season.

The Raiders were terrible in nearly every aspect of the game for almost the entire season. They are in an attractive location and have shown a willingness to spend money in the past, but they need that to culminate in winning football and finally settle on the consistency they missed for the past couple of decades.
