Given how strong the Dolphins have been playing of late, this matchup might actually be closer than you the oddsmakers seem to think, but in the end Chiefs QB, Mahomes will find a way to earn the Win Week 14.

In Week 13, the Denver Broncos cracked the code and somehow figured out a way to neutralize the Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and their multi-talented offense, and though KC found a way to win, the 22-16 score felt too close given the opposition, so expect HC Andy Reid to and his Chiefs to show up in Florida hungry to make up for all that.
Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores has been exceptional with his handling of QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick and rookie Tua Tagovailoa under center, the two flip-flopping for various reasons in 2020, and after a Week 13 win over the Bengals, the 8-4 Phins are now challenging the 9-3 Buffalo Bills for the top spot in the competitive AFC East.
These two AFC cross-divisional franchises have played each other 30 prior times (including 3 postseason games), with the Miami Dolphins winning 16 of those games and the Kansas City Chiefs winning the other 14 games.
Take a look at the best promo codes and Week 14 NFL bonuses.
The Chiefs currently have the 17th most effective defense in the league, a squad that, on average, keeps opponents to about 360 total yards and 21 points per game, numbers that are respectable, especially given the quality of the Mahomes-led offense that’s counterbalancing them.
The Chiefs are stronger against the pass than against the run, so it would behoove the Dolphins OC Chan Gailey to get a game plan ready that emphasizes their rushing attack, featuring Myles Gaskin and rookie Salvon Ahmed.
Regardless of who they have quarterbacking, Miami is used to scoring 25 points per game, and if the Chiefs can keep them to that or lower, their offense should have no trouble outscoring that total.
It has been a back-and-forth ride for the two Miami Dolphin starting quarterbacks, with veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick and rookie Tua Tagovailoa having to share snaps all season due to inexperience, at first, and then injury more recently.
Fitzpatrick has started seven games for Miami this season and is 4-3 after completing 68.5 percent of his passes for 1,909 yards and 12 touchdowns, his 8 interceptions the only part of that stats line that is a concern.
Coach Flores has stated that Tagovailoa, if healthy, is the Dolphins starter, the first-year player so far starting in five games and posting a 4-1 record, with 7 touchdowns and no interceptions, the clear future of the franchise if he can stay on the field.
Chiefs receiver Tyreek “Cheetah” Hill is considered the fastest player in the NFL, and right now he is also leading the league with touchdown receptions with 13, averaging 14.6 yards per catch this season (and for his pro career, as well).
In 2020, Hill has caught 74 balls off 111 targets (66.7 catch%) for 1,079 yards, plus he has also carried the ball 11 times for another 90 yards and a touchdown.
To beat these tricky Dolphins, it would help if Hill had a game as he did in Week 12 when the Chiefs beat the Bucs in Tampa and the Cheetah posted 13 receptions for a whopping 269 yards and 3 touchdowns, a career day his fans (or he) won’t soon forget.
For Miami to have any chance of beating these powerful Chiefs, they have to get wide receiver DeVante Parker heavily involved in the red zone, regardless of who ends up under center.
In 12 games, Parker has been targeted 87 times in 2020 and has caught 56 of those passes for 677 yards and 4 touchdowns, with a catch percentage of 64.4 that ties his career-best from the 2016 season.
If the Dolphins expect to outscore the Chiefs, then not only does Parker have to get a lot of catches, he also has to find a way to the endzone, something he has only done once in the last five outings.
