Looks like another exciting NFL Thursday Night Football matchup featuring an NFC South battle between the 4-5 Atlanta Falcons and the 2-7 Carolina Panthers with that division still up for grabs and the Falcons no doubt still stinging from their Week 9 loss by the last minute Chargers field goal while the Panthers interim HC Steve Wilks still tries to figure out who he wants under center.
That QB battle in Carolina is between veteran Baker Mayfield who was recently yanked for third-year backup P.J. Walker who is 1-3 as the starter despite showing glimpses of exciting play, with one of them having to face the Falcons 32nd ranked pass defense, a divisional matchup that already happened in Week 8 when the Falcons beat the Panthers in Atlanta by a score of 37-34.
Also keep in mind that Atlanta has covered the spread in each of its last four road games against the Panthers and Falcons QB Marcus Mariota seems to be improving every week with the exception of last week against the Chargers, two bottom-third offenses facing off for a divisional win that we think favors the visitors, though neither of these teams has impressed.

This has been a low-scoring season in the NFL thanks in part to a shortened preseason, so teams have been working out the rust during regular season games, a fact that affects this points total bet since the oddsmakers are predicting this Falcons vs Panthers matchup to be a low scoring event with a total score of 43.5 between the two teams.
This is a nationally televised game and each of Atlanta’s prior six Thursday matchups have gone under the total points line, a trend that we think will end given the Falcons offense averages 24.1 points per game and the Panthers typically score 19.9 points per game, that total of 44 a half point over what the oddsmakers are predicting, something to consider for this bet.
Another bit of research to do before placing this wager is to determine how these two defenses have been playing, and on that side of the ball the Falcons have allowed opponents to score 25 points per game and the Panthers' defense has allowed the teams it plays to average 25.3 points each time, that total of 50.3 ten points above the bet, so we will be taking the over.
The Panthers are on a two-game losing streak and then have lost each of their last 10 games against teams that held a losing record, so in terms of an outright win in Week 10, we think the Falcons have a better shot of earning it, this team having beaten some decent teams already including the 49ers, the Seahawks, and even the Panthers just two weeks ago.
If you are new to sports betting, here is how this money line bet works – if you think the Falcons will beat the Panthers without needing any extra points to do it, then you would bet $150 and if Atlanta beats Carolina outright, you will win $100 plus your bet, whereas if you think the Panthers will win this one, bet $100 on the money line and if you win you take home $130 plus your bet.
Be sure to check out the two teams’ injury reports before you place any sports wagers since key playmakers might be too hurt to suit up for the matchup, and in Week 10 for the Falcons there are three players listed as questionable including starting CB A.J. Terrell (hamstring) whereas for the Panthers there are eight game time decisions including SS Justin Burris (concussion).
