Falcons vs. Commanders Predictions and Prop Bets

Falcons vs. Commanders My Pick

Since being selected with the second pick in the NFL Draft, Jayden Daniels has quickly turned the Commanders offense into one of the more explosive units in the league as they currently rank top-10 in Off DVOA, EPA, and Success Rate. Against the Falcons lackluster defense, Jayden Daniels will have the opportunity to strengthen his case for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award by consistently generating drives down the field and into scoring territory. When inside the 20, expect points to be put up on the board as the Falcons rank 26th in Def DVOA and 23rd in Def EPA.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Commanders Predictions

With the Falcons outside linebackers having to anchor in coverage to help slow down Daniels, that opens the door for Brian Robinson Jr to string together a dominant outing. Especially with Atlanta’s front seven already struggling with stopping the run as the Falcons defense ranks well below league average in Def Rush DVOA, EPA, and Adjusted Line Yards. With Robinson commanding defensive attention to the box, that will help open up higher quality passing lanes for Daniels to exploit.

Falcons vs. Commanders Best Player Props

Brian Robinson Jr Over 63.5 Rushing Yards (-115) at BetMGM Sportsbook

After being held to just 24 yards by Philadelphia, Brian Robinson Jr will have the opportunity to round back into form against the underwhelming Falcons front seven. Neutralizing rush production has been a hassle for the Falcons defense this season as they enter the contest ranked 20th or worse in Def Rush DVOA, Success Rate, and Adjusted Line Yards. With Atlanta’s secondary grading out well in Def Pass Success Rate, Robinson may receive an uptick in carries which increases the chances of him clearing the over.

Brian Robinson Jr Anytime Touchdown (-135) at Caesars Sportsbook

A big reason for the Falcons issues with stopping the run stems from their scheme as they anchor their linebackers at one of the heaviest rates in the league. While this does help stretch out their coverage, it also gives opposing running backs more room to work with when they get past the trenches. With extra bodies covering up space in the shortened field, expect Washington to continue to call the run when inside the 20. Also sprinkle a smaller wager on Robinson to score two touchdowns as Washington should generate a high amount of scoring opportunities.

Jayden Daniels Under 0.5 Interception (-120) at BetMGM Sportsbook

Even with extra bodies stretched out across the field, the Falcons secondary has still struggled in coverage as their near dead last marks in Def Pass DVOA and EPA indicates. Their lack of pass rush plays a major role in their struggles as opposing quarterbacks get the benefit of sitting in a clean pocket while their pass catchers have more time to break away from their coverage and create higher quality passing lanes. Daniels may also tuck it and run when a rushing lane opens up, further increasing his chances of not throwing a pick.
