The Saints are 2-0 to start the season with wins over Carolina and Dallas
The Eagles lost to the Falcons last Monday
Derek Carr is first in the NFL in passing touchdowns
Very few people would have expected the New Orleans Saints to be undefeated after two games. Although they were picked to finish third in the NFC South, they have looked like a championship contender.
The Saints marched into Dallas last week and beat the Cowboys 44-19. On the other hand, the Eagles lost to the Falcons thanks to a game-winning drive from Kirk Cousins and a dropped pass from Saquon Barkley. These teams match well, which should make for an exciting game on Monday.
Odds for this matchup are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook. New customers at FanDuel can get $200 in bonus bets instantly when they wager $5 on the platform.
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Philadelphia Eagles | +2.5 (-104) | +128 | Over 49.5 (-110) |
New Orleans Saints | -2.5 (-118) | -152 | Under 49.5 (-110) |
The Eagles are a better football team than the Saints. New Orleans has exceeded expectations, but it’s time to hold the phone.
The Saints beat the Panthers, the worst football team in the NFL, and benched their starting quarterback after two games. They beat the Cowboys, but this looked like a rough performance from the Cowboys.
The Eagles have a great chance to respond as long as they can limit explosive plays on defense.

The Cold, Hard Football Facts proprietary stats rank New Orleans as the best team in the Quality Stats Power Rankings. They have been very efficient this season, and their stars have consistently played well.
Alvin Kamara has been fantastic in the run-and-pass game. This season, he has carried the ball 35 times for 198 yards and four touchdowns. He has also had nearly 100 yards receiving and a touchdown through two games.
Rashid Shaheed also blew people away with his performance in weeks one and two. He has caught seven passes for 169 yards with two touchdowns, averaging over 24.1 yards per attempt.
Defenses can’t allow Shaheed to get past them, or they will lose because of the receiver’s speed. Nevertheless, the Eagles have the players to match New Orleans stars, and we trust Jalen Hurts more than Derek Carr based on past performances.
The Eagles will have success running the football with Saquon Barkley. Teams haven’t been able to run the ball against the Saints because they have been playing from behind, yet their front seven isn’t the best.
The Saints will struggle if Philadelphia can jump out to an early lead. They haven’t faced any adversity this season, and the Eagles will be the first team to challenge them for 60 minutes.
The writers at WSN aren’t high on Derek Carr because he isn’t a great quarterback. You shouldn’t be swayed by how he performed in the season's first two games, as it was more Kamara and Shaheed posting big numbers.
Carr threw for 200 in the opener and 243 last week. He has been very efficient with the football but isn’t a downfield passer. Just because he has hit some explosive plays doesn’t mean his skill set has changed drastically since last year.
Many media members said Carr’s NFL career was coming to a close. On Sunday, we will see him resort to his old ways and pass for less than 232.5 yards.

The Eagles front seven has playmakers, but we expect Sunday’s game to be a low-scoring contest. This means Alvin Kamara will get his fair share of rushing attempts, and these carries will translate to yards.
Kamara’s rushing yards prop is set at 65.5 yards. He has been fantastic running the football, and we believe he will have another strong outing. Kamara has rushed for 83 and 115 yards, so expect another big day no matter what the scoreboard reads at the end of the game.

Dallas Goedert isn’t a primary target for Hurts. Goedert will have massive statistical performances, but this hasn’t happened since 2024.
Goedert’s receiving total is 40.5 yards, and we expect him to go under this line. He has seven catches for 69 yards, and Hurts hasn’t looked his way, so he shouldn’t start on Sunday.
