Eagles vs. Packers Picks, Predictions & Player Props: Can the Pack Attack Slow Down Barkley?

Published January 11, 2025
6 min read
  • The Eagles beat the Packers 34-29 in Week 1

  • Jordan Love exited Week 18 with an injury to his throwing arm

  • Saquon Barkley scored 3 TDs against the Packers earlier this season

This NFL Wild Card Round matchup features two teams that met in Brazil during the season's opening week. The seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers will head east to take on the second-seeded Philadelphia Eagles. These storied franchises have a ton of talent, but only one will survive and advance.

If you want to wager on this game, we have you covered. Below, we’ll share our favorite bet for the game and a few prop bets we have our eye on.

Eagles vs Packers Predictions and Prop Bets

Eagles vs. Packers Predictions

The Green Bay Packers had a rough final week of the season. They lose to the Bears for the first time in a long time while also seeing Jordan Love and Christian Watson go down with injuries. Watson is unlikely to play again this season, but Love’s injury is the wild card coming into Sunday.

While the details of Love’s injury are scarce, the quarterback confirmed that he lost feeling in his throwing hand after hurting his elbow last week. He also confirmed that the injury still doesn’t feel right, but he plans to play this weekend.

Love’s injury is the biggest reason we love the Eagles to cover this spread. The Eagles lead the league in passing yards allowed per game (174.2) and rank third in passer rating (82.5). That will lead to a lot of work for Josh Jacobs and the Green Bay backfield.

We like Jacobs to do some damage against the Eagles' run defense, but it won’t be enough if they can’t get the pass going. That’s because of the Eagles' offense, which Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley lead.

Hurts will be able to pick apart the Packers’ secondary, which lacks the weapons to keep AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith in check. This will give Philly an early lead, allowing them to dominate the clock with Barkley.

Eagles vs. Packers My Pick

The Packers’ pass game has been disappointing, and Jacobs won’t be able to keep up with the Eagles' offense alone. We expect Philly to control this game, leading to a boring and lopsided win for the Eagles.

Eagles vs. Packers Best Prop Bets

Saquon Barkley 3+ TDs (+850) at Caesars Sportsbook

If you are looking for a longshot bet during the opening week of the playoffs, this is it. Barkley has been unstoppable all season, averaging a surreal 5.8 YPC for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. The back is also an impressive receiver, making the three-touchdown mark more realistic.

Barkley has scored three touchdowns once this season, and it came against this Packers team. Considering the cold weather in Philly this weekend, we expect Barkley to receive 30+ carries, setting him up for plenty of touchdown opportunities.

Emanuel Wilson Anytime TD (+650) at Caesars Sportsbook

This is our favorite bet of the opening week of the playoffs. Wilson has been solid in a backup role all season, but his production has spiked as his carry totals have gone up. Over the last three weeks, the back has averaged 4.9 YPC, and the end zone in each game was found.

While Jacobs is a power back, Wilson has seen a lot of carries on the goal line. The Packers have had issues passing in the red zone, meaning Wilson will see carries when they get close.

Josh Jacobs Over 30+ Receiving Yards (+205) at Caesars Sportsbook

This is a high total for the back, but we expect him to be the center of the Green Bay offense on Sunday. The Packers will need to pass when they go down early in this game. The Eagles' elite pass defense and the Packers’ struggling receiving corps will leave Love with few options, leading to him looking for Jacobs throughout the game.
