NFL Draft 2025 First Pick Odds: Ward, Hunter, Carter in Three-Man Race

The 2025 NFL Draft is still months away, but oddsmakers have already released first pick odds for the top collegiate players in the country.

The upcoming draft is unique compared to recent years because it is back-loaded with talent. Teams with multiple picks in the late-first, second, and third rounds are poised to make out better than others in historical positions of power because of the depth of talent in this class.

The general consensus is that one of Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, or Abdul Carter will be the first to hear their name called by commissioner Roger Goodell.

That’s still far from a guarantee, and the Tennessee Titans are on the record saying they’ll entertain offers to trade the first pick.

Here’s where 2025 NFL Draft first pick odds stand.

NFL Draft First Pick Odds 2025

Top Odds to Be First Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft

QB Cam Ward, Miami (-140 at bet365)

Ward was second in the country in passing yards (4,313), first in passing touchdowns (39), only had seven interceptions, and topped the QBR charts for the nation’s highest-scoring offense. He followed an unorthodox path that started at Incarnate Word and Washington State, but he worked his way to become a big-play machine during his only year at Miami. His footwork and processing will need to get better, but he’s shown the ability to learn and improve thus far.

EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State (+220 at bet365)

Carter dragged opposing quarterbacks to the ground 12 times in his first season as a full-time edge rusher. He also led the country in tackles for loss and was utterly destructive in the College Football Playoff despite playing through a shoulder injury. His rare blend of speed, power, and bend make him a facsimile of recent Penn State product and fellow #11, Micah Parsons.

CB/WR Travis Hunter, Colorado (+450 at bet365)

The Heisman Trophy winner is on the verge of becoming a first-of-his-kind player as a bonafide two-way star. He had 96 catches for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns, along with 35 tackles, 11 pass breakups, four interceptions, and a forced fumble in his junior season, all while handling far more reps than any player in the sport. Assuming he makes the move to one side of the ball full-time or at least cuts down his overall snap count, he should get noticeably better due to having more energy.

QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado (+500 at bet365)

Sanders racked up 4,134 yards, 37 TDs, and 10 INTs and ranked 20th in QBR for Colorado last season. He looks the most pro-ready when he’s in rhythm and has elite touch, anticipation, and clutch genes late in games. His issues deal with holding onto the ball too long and a limited ability to escape the pocket, though those could also be explained by Colorado’s inability to provide him any support on the offensive line or in the backfield.

QB Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss (+4000 at bet365)

A recent riser on many draft boards, Dart finished his senior season with 4,279 yards, 29 TDs, and six INTs, and was fourth in QBR. He is bursting with big-play potential but often juxtaposes his highlight moments with head-scratching mistakes. Whichever team drafts him needs to either be extremely confident in their ability to reel him in, or have a strong defense that can help overcome his unavoidable turnovers.
