Chiefs vs. Falcons Picks, Predictions & Player Props: Chiefs Offense to Make a Statement on Primetime

  • The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals by a game-winning field goal last week

  • Atlanta’s offensive line ranks 30th overall in True Pass Set Grade

  • The Falcons' defense ranks near dead last in both Pass Rush Win Rate and PFF Grade

After barely squeaking by the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, the Kansas City Chiefs are in desperate need of a bounce-back performance. Fortunately for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense, they draw a very favorable matchup against the Atlanta Falcons as their defense ranks dead last in Pass Rush Win Rate and second to last in PFF Grade.

Chiefs vs Falcons Predictions and Prop Bets

Chiefs vs. Falcons Pick

With Mahomes getting a clean pocket, as well as extra time for his playmakers to create separation from the Falcons' secondary in the open field, expect the Chiefs offense to move the ball down the field into scoring territory at a consistent rate. Factor in the Falcons' offensive line being prone to crumbling against the Chiefs' interior pressure, and Atlanta may struggle to stay within the Chiefs' scoring pace.

Chiefs vs. Falcons Predictions

All eyes will be on the former NFL MVP as Patrick Mahomes looks to bounce back after a two-interception performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. While they did secure the win after a game-winning field goal, it was still an underwhelming performance from Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. Fortunately for Kansas City, they will be in a position to round back into form as Mahomes gets the benefit of working in a clean pocket against one of the worst pass rush units in the league.

Chiefs vs. Falcons Best Player Props

Patrick Mahomes Over 23.5 Pass Completions (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

If you have managed to read our breakdown on Patrick Mahomes player props earlier in the week, then you would know that we are all over his passing props as he will be in a great position to pick apart the Falcons' secondary. While Mahomes is effective when throwing on the run, he is even more dangerous when given a clean pocket. Against a Falcons defensive line that ranks near dead last in both Pass Rush Win Rate and PFF Grade, expect Mahomes to capitalize on his higher-quality throwing opportunities.

Kirk Cousins Under 229.5 Passing Yards (-115 at Caesars Sportsbook)

While Mahomes will be in a position to succeed, Cousins will struggle to combat against the Chiefs' pressure as he still looks noticeably less than 100% since making his return from last year’s season-ending injury. Especially since he will be under constant pressure as his offensive line ranks 30th in True Pass Set Grade and are tasked with having to wall off the dominant Chris Jones. With opposing pressure being generated from the snap, as well as a lack of mobility to scramble away, expect Cousins to rely on quick outs for minimal gains.

Bijan Robinson Over 71.5 Rushing Yards (-112 at Caesars Sportsbook)

While Cousins may struggle to generate pass production, star running back Bijan Robinson should manage to string together another impressive performance against a vulnerable front seven. Stopping the run has been an issue for the Chiefs' defense so far this season as they enter the contest ranked in the bottom-10 in Rush Defense Win Rate. This was an issue for Kansas City all of last season after finishing the year ranked 27th in Def Rush DVOA and 30th in Def Rush EPA, now looking vulnerable once again as their scheme anchors their second level in coverage while relying on their front to collapse the pocket.
