  • The Chiefs are 4-8-1 against the spread, while the Browns are 4-9

  • The Chiefs allow 221.8 passing yards per game, which is 20th in the NFL

  • The Browns rank 21st or worse in points, total yards, and rushing yards allowed per game

The 3-10 Cleveland Browns will host the 12-1 Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15 of the NFL season. The Browns are in last place in the AFC North, while the Chiefs have clinched the AFC West. The Chiefs are 4-8-1 against the spread, while the Browns are 4-9.

Below are the odds for this game, my best bet, predictions, and best player props.

Chiefs vs. Browns Predictions and Prop Bets

Chiefs vs. Browns: My Pick

This line was 4.5 and has now dropped to four points. This may seem almost unbelievable given the records of these two teams, but as mentioned above, they have very similar records against the spread.

While I preferred 4.5 points much more, I still lean toward the Browns covering.

The Chiefs are 12-1, but 10 of those wins have been by one score. They’ve played all but three games within one score.

Of course, one score could be three points or even seven.

I’m leaning toward the Browns because of quarterback Jameis Winston. He’s extremely volatile, but he could end this game with 400 passing yards, three touchdowns, and a couple of picks and lose by a field goal.

I’ll hold my nose and enjoy the Winston ride.

Chiefs vs. Browns Predictions

I’ll start this analysis by showing Winston's game because this is the entire basis for my argument that the Browns should take the +4.

  • Oct. 27: 27 of 41 (65.9%) for 334 yards, three touchdowns, zero interceptions.

  • Nov. 3: 26 of 46 (56.5%) for 235 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions.

  • Nov. 17: 30 of 46 (65.2%) for 395 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

  • Nov. 21: 18 of 27 (66.7%) for 219 yards, zero touchdowns, one interception.

  • Dec. 2: 34 of 58 (58.6%) for 497 yards, four touchdowns, three interceptions.

  • Dec. 8: 24 of 41 (58.5%) for 212 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

He’s gone 2-4 in that stretch, and his two wins came on Oct. 27 and Nov. 21. There’s almost no correlation between him passing well and the Browns winning or losing.

The Browns defense allows 25.8 points (26th), 343.2 total yards (21st), 127.9 rushing yards (22nd), and 215.3 passing yards (13th) per game.

The Chiefs defense has been strong, but they’re actually worse than the Browns against the pass, giving up 221.8 passing yards per game (20th). Over the last three games, they’re allowing 253.7 passing yards per game which is ninth-worst among all teams during that stretch.

Barring some inclement weather, I think Winston will be able to pass with some degree of success here and help the Browns cover the spread.

Chiefs vs. Browns Best Player Props

Cedric Tillman Anytime TD (+275) at Caesars Sportsbook

Tillman hasn’t played since suffering a concussion in Week 12. Before that, he saw eight targets or more in the four prior games. From Week 7 to 11, he saw 38 targets, caught 24 passes for 302 yards, and three touchdowns.

Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie will primarily cover Jerry Jeudy, and as a result of that, Tillman will be matched up with Joshua Williams. He’s played just 172 snaps in coverage, allowing 12 receptions on 18 targets for 100 yards and a touchdown.

The Chiefs have allowed at least one touchdown per game to opposing wide receivers in each of the last seven games. They’ve also allowed at least one in all but two games this season.

Tillman should be back. He’s been Winston's favorite target when he's on the field.

At +275, I’d take a chance.

Isiah Pacheco Anytime TD (+102) at Caesars Sportsbook

The Browns allow 21 carries for 87 yards and one rushing touchdown per game to opposing running backs.

Pacheco has played in two games since getting injured in September. He’s had 21 carries for 99 yards and no touchdowns.

He’s averaging 4.7 yards per carry since coming back. He had seven carries in his first game back and ramped up to 14 last week.

This will be his third game since the injury, and he faces a defense that’s proven to be vulnerable against running backs. They’ve given up four rushing touchdowns to running backs over the last three games.

He’s got plus line value and a solid matchup.

I’ll take a chance.

Dustin Hopkins 2+ Field Goals (+112) at Caesars Sportsbook

Getting plus line value, I’ll take a chance on Hopkins to have two field goals.

The Chiefs allow about two attempts per game, and kickers make 1.54 per outing.

However, in the three most recent games, nine field goals were attempted against them, and six were made. Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson made just one of four.

He’s attempted multiple field goals in eight games this season.

Here’s how I see this playing out: Winston can throw against the Chiefs, and as drives stall out, Hopkins will get multiple field goal attempts.

Opponents only score touchdowns against the Chiefs 50.98% of the time (25th) when inside the red zone.
