Chiefs vs. 49ers Predictions

Expect to see some fireworks in this rematch of last year’s Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs are the only undefeated team left in the league, but they haven’t looked great. Some of that can be attributed to a slew of injuries that took away the team’s top running back and top two wide receivers. However, their Week 5 win against the Saints showed that the offense is finally heating up.

Don’t look now, but Travis Kelce has posted at least 70 yards in two straight games, bringing in 16 catches. The team has had him on a snap count to keep him fresh for the playoffs, but injuries seem to have sidelined that plan. He will join a resurgent JuJu Smith-Schuster and Kareem Hunt, once again making this an elite offense.

The success of Schuster and Kelce is bad news for the Niners. Their defense has struggled against the pass this season, ranking in the bottom half of the league. While their front seven remain strong, their secondary will be in over their heads against Mahomes on Sunday.

The Chiefs' defense is once again impressive, but the Niners' offense is firing on all cylinders. Quarterback Brock Purdy has been fantastic, ranking second in passing yards (1,629) and eighth in touchdowns (9). Brandon Aiyuk has settled in, George Kittle is healthy, and Deebo Samuel has been electric even as he battles injuries.

There are a lot of great games on the board this weekend, but expect this to be the most exciting of the bunch.

Chiefs vs. 49ers - My Pick

The scoring will take off quickly in this one, especially with the Niners desperately trying to avoid falling below .500. Even with the extensive injury reports for both teams, they have the depth to put up some impressive numbers this weekend.

Chiefs vs. 49ers Best Prop Bets

Travis Kelce Anytime TD (+250) at Caesars Sportsbook

As we mentioned above, Travis Kelce is beginning to get hot. He has had at least seven catches in two consecutive games after managing just eight over the first three weeks. The big man hasn’t found the end zone yet, but that will change on Sunday.

Kelce will play a major role against a shaky Niners pass defense. San Francisco is very strong against the run, meaning the Chiefs will need to work through the air in the red zone. There is no better end-zone target than Kelce, and he will bring in at least one touchdown on Sunday.

Travis Kelce 5.5 Receptions (-142) at Caesars Sportsbook

With Brown and Rice out, Kelce is once again the Chiefs’ top weapon. The 35-year-old has seen 19 targets over his last two games, bringing in 16 for 159 yards. Given that Kareem Hunt and the run game will struggle against the Niners front seven, expect Mahomes to work through the air often on Sunday.

George Kittle Over 50.5 Receiving Yards (-135) at Caesars Sportsbook

This is a very low total for one of the league’s top tight ends. Kittle has gone for over 50 yards in two straight games and three of his previous four. He and Purdy have built a lot of chemistry over the last few seasons, making the tight end a beneficiary from the quarterback’s strong start.

The Niners offense is loaded, but Deebo is dealing with an injury, Aiyuk has lacked consistency, and McCaffrey remains on the sideline. That means more action for Kittle, allowing him to easily surpass this low total.
